The Peaceful Evergreens bundle is a great bundle for not just Christmas cards but for general winter cards too. Just think of some Happy New Year cards with some snow covered evergreen trees! I'll be making some of those eventually but today I'm sharing another Christmas card. I was inspired by the colors at the CAS Colours & Sketches challenge but the more I'm looking at my card the more I think it might just be a bit too busy to be considered clean and simple. What do you think??
The actual design is pretty simple but I think the die cut "snow" in the background might be a bit much for the CAS designation.
The card base is Misty Moonlight and then the layer of Basic White die cut with the dots or what I'm thinking of as snow.
The large tree is stamped in Mossy Meadow stamping off once for a lighter version. Then I used the next size tree and over stamped it onto the first tree in full strength ink for a bit of dimension. The tree is popped on dimensionals.
Next I used the Peaceful Season dies to cut a banner in Blackberry Bliss and embossed the sentiment in gold. You can find this sentiment in the Christmas Friends stamp set. The banner is adhered over the tree with dimensionals on the ends to help support it and keep it from sagging.
I stamped a little Blackberry Bliss star for the top of the tree and then added some Blackberry Bliss Purple Fine Shimmer Gems to the tree. I might go back and change the star to gold...what do you think?
Thanks for looking! Did you stamp today?

Love how you stamped the tree, Amanda, it has so much interest and dimension. Terrific use of our colours for this one - the banner is beautifully rich and perfect for a christmas card. Thanks for sharing with us at CC&S!
ReplyDeleteI love this Amanda - a great way to use this week's CC&S colours, which I thought were tricky! A beautiful CAS design (I like the background snow ;-) ) and the purple really pops! Thanks for playing along!
