Party Candles - Stampin' Up! Picture Perfect Birthday

Today's card is another birthday card.  February is a busy birthday month in our family.  We have many birthdays to celebrate on both sides so I have to be on my game to make sure the cards get made and put in the mail in a timely fashion!

I think I designed this card back in the beginning of January for some challenge or another.  It was fun making the different candles and adding a bit of gold embossing.

Using one of the more sedate patterns of the Picture Perfect Party DSP I pulled my color combo and added a bit of black for contrast.

The candles are stamped first in stamped off Pool Party and then the details are added in Bermuda Bay.

The gold embossed flames work nicely with the the small strip of Gold Glimmer paper as well as uses up some of my ever growning pile of small scraps that I just can't part with!

The sentiment is stamped directly onto the DSP in black.

It's Epic - Stampin' Up! Epic Celebrations

Having 2 boys, ages 11 and 9, I can't use too many cutesy stamps anymore when I made cards for them!  As much as I love cute animals and sweet sentiments my boys would just roll their eyes unless there was some sort of pun or joke associated with the images.  So when I saw Epic Celebrations as one of this year's Sale-a-Bration (SAB) rewards I knew it was going to the top of my list.

For this card I played around with some of the images as well as using the Blends to color them pulling my color combination from the Bubbles & Fizz DSP (also a SAB reward!)

I don't know if my boys will think it's epic but I thought it turned out kind of fun!

Little Chickadee Thank You - Stampin' Up! Petal Palette

I'm a bit of a bird watcher and enjoy having feeders and bird baths in our yard.  It's always fun to see a new species hanging about taking advantage of the amenities.  My family might say I'm a little crazy about the backyard bird and they might just be a little right!

There were a lot of cute stamp sets with birds this year in the Occasions catalog so of course I couldn't resist!  I thought this little chickadee was adorable in Petal Palette and to make it even better with just a bit of coloring you can change it into many more different birds.

I was playing around with different designs and came up with this Thank You card.  The card base is  Powder Pink with the flower stamped in the same color ink on the background.  I added a layer of Whisper White that was embossed with one of the the Petal Pair embossing folders.

A Pear Pizzazz die cut branch and the black and white chickadee brings your eye to the die cut label thank you sentiment.

A little organza ribbon bow ties off the branch as the only accessory.

Tied with a Birthday Bow - Stampin' Up! Picture Perfect Birthday

I made today's card way back in December after I'd gotten my Christmas cards all mailed out and I was just over Christmas stamping.  I had just gotten my BIG box of Occasions preorder products so I was all ready to dive in start designing.

The Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set is a great mix of images and sentiments and I was in desperate need for some new birthday sets so the timing was perfect.

I pulled my color combo diretly from the Picture Perfect Party DSP.  This pack has a regular pattern on one side and the other has fun party themed photographs.  So many possibilities with these papers.

The gift bow is stamped in Berry Burst with the second step embossed in gold.  I fussy cut it and popped it up on the edge of the circle sentiment.

I inked the secondary banner sentiment using markers so I could highlight the 'confetti' portion of the words.  A few gold sequins to tie in with the gold embossing finish off the details.

Simple I Love You - Stampin' Up! Petal Palette

An 'I love you' card doesn't have to be complicated or over the top.  This is a very simple layout pulling in colors from the Painted with Love Specialty DSP and adding a bit of gold embossing for texture.

The stampers over at The Paper Players have a theme challenge for just this sort of card.  Clean and Simple Love Note!

The large heart is cut with a set a retired heart framelits so it's a bit of a different shape than the current sets but a heart is a heart right?  Behind the heart is the speckled stamp from Petal Palette embossed with gold.

The sentiment also from Petal Palette is stamped in Melon Mambo and layered with a leftover gold foil banner from one of the Christmas Paper Pumpkin kits (can't let anything go to waste right?).  The heart and banners are popped with dimensionals.

The final bit of detail on this card are the enamel shapes in Rich Razzleberry and  Melon Mambo.

Easy enough to make in multiples!

Birdie Valentine - Stampin' Up! Bird Banter

With Valentine's Day fast approaching I better start sharing the cards I've make so far.  I definitely need a few for my family.

The Bird Banter set caught my eye right away with the cute images and funny sentiments.  And they are even more cute when they are colored with the new Stampin' Blends!  I needed some new birthday sets to freshen up my birthday cards for 2018.  But Bird Banter really works for other genres of cards too!

I used some of the bird stamps to create a black and white background.  The toucan is colored with Blends and I made the little heart hang out of his beak by drawing a black line with my marker.

The Myths & Magic Glimmer paper is a nice little layer to make my bird pop a bit.  The Sale-a-Bration (SAB) Shimmer ribbon pack reward is also perfect with the narrow Bermuda Bay choice.

The little black and white banner is embossed using the Thoughtful Banners stamp set.

Little Love Panda - Stampin' Up! Party Pandas - Fab Friday 129

Can it really be more than a month since I've posted??  Time certainly got away from me over the Christmas holidays and then travel into the New Year along with a lot of school snow days I'm just now getting back on my feet with some regularly scheduled activities!

I've certainly got a good reason to get back to stamping and blogging with the latest Fab Friday challenge!  Check out the sketch this time around!

While I didn't take the large heart directly into my interpretation of the sketch I did make it a Valentine's Day card.  The Sale-a-Bration (SAB) set Party Pandas is just too cute and fits a little "love you" theme perfectly!

The Painted with Love Specialty DSP is fabulous and I've used almost a whole pack of it already.  The fun bold strokes paired up with gold accents makes for a great pack of paper.  I used the smallest design for my card today.  And a little 1/4" Whisper White organza ribbon is added to the top of the DSP panel.

A Melon Mambo stiched circle is a nice base for the circle with the panda.  The heart in the envelope is colored in with a Calypso Coral marker.  After that panel was popped with dimensionals I stamped the little confetti stamp around the circle in Rich Razzleberry.  The "love you" is stamped in Memento ink.

Hope you can get a start on your Valentine's Day cards with this fun sketch.  Even if you don't need any Valentine's Day cards please play along with us at Fab Friday and share whatever kind of card you create!
