Hand-Penned in Purple - Stampin' Up! Han-Penned Petals - Fab Friday 213

Fab Friday is back with another challenge today.  It's a sketch this time with a nice big center panel to work with.  Have at it and share in the gallery!

I'm using my Hand-Penned Petals stamp set along with the coordinating Hand-Penned DSP.  I thought these colors and flowers are perfect for spring.  I used the scallop die for the skinny cross piece but added the sentiment square because I wanted to use this sentiment from another new set; Inspired Thoughts.

Thanks for looking!  Did you stamp today?

Hand-Penned Birthday - Stampin' Up! Hand-Penned Petals - Fab Friday 212

TGIF everyone!  It looks like we might have a wet weekend so lots of time to stamp right?  The team at Fab Friday Challenge has a new challenge to start your weekend stamping!  It's a fun set of colors and we can't wait to see what you create with them.

I think these colors are perfect for spring flowers but I'm always amazed at the creative ways stampers will use our colors.

Getting some ink on a new stamp set was a priority and I had Hand-Penned Petals just sitting there waiting with all of my preorder items.

This card starts with a Soft Sea Foam base, then a layer of Ice Cream Corner DSP that was perfect for the Old Olive and Soft Sea Foam requirement.  Then a Stitched So Sweetly scalloped rectangle was cut from Soft Sea Foam and stamped with the same color of ink using the other large outline flower stamp in the set.  I then backed the panel with Whisper White.

The flowers were first stamped in Memento black and then I filled them in with Terracotta Tile, Flirty Flamingo and Soft Sea Foam using the 'fill' stamps.  They do not line up exactly so don't get yourself in a tizzy trying for perfect alignment.  This way gives it a more artist, watercolored look.  I ended up adding a little Old Olive light Blends to leaves so they didn't blend into the background so much.

The sentiment from Many Messages is stamped in Old Olive and I layered it with dimensionals over a length of retired ribbon and added some sequins and pearls.

Have fun with the colors and don't forget to share your creation over at Fab Friday!

Blended Butterfly Thanks - Stampin' Up! Brilliant Wings Dies - Fab Friday 211

TGIF stampers!  The crew at Fab Friday is back with a new challenge to make your Friday even better!  We can't wait to see what you create with this fun sketch!

I needed to make a set of thank you cards so I put the Brilliant Wings dies to work.  That center oval looked like a perfect place for a butterfly!

To make multiple cards using the die cuts I started out first by blending 4 colors of ink onto a piece of Whisper White.  I used Melon Mambo, Mango Melody, Coastal Cabana and Highland Heather and with the blending brushes just made splotches of color blending in the edges until all the white was covered.  Then I used the large butterfly shape die where they are all connected and cut out all of the butterflies from the single sheet of colored paper.  Each one came out different depending on what colors they fell on.

Next I cut out the basic Black overlays and added them to the colored piece with dimensionals on the body.  The sentiment is from Friends Are Like Seashells and is stamped in black and popped on dimensionals.  A few small rhinestones decorate the sides.

I added the butterfly to the card front over the top of some crinkled seam binding ribbon which is over the top of a piece of Butterfly Bijou DSP which I'm sorry to say sold out so fast customers barely had a chance to get it.

The DSP is over the top of a piece of Whisper White embossed with the Greenery embossing folder.  The card base is Whisper White thick with opposite corners rounded for a bit of interest.

So not much stamping but a lot of ink use!  I think I did 5 different panels so I have a whole stack of butterflies to put onto cards!

Head over to Fab Friday to see the rest of the fabulous Design Team samples!

Perennials for the Guys - Stampin' Up! Pretty Perennials

The team at Fab Friday is back with a new challenge!  Are you all ready to stamp this weekend or do you have yard work to do now that the weather is nicer?  We weeded, mulched and my husband even mowed last weekend so I've got time to stamp this weekend.  Since getting the new puppy a week ago I haven't spent much time in the stamp room so I'm looking forward to getting inky.

Check out the colors we are working with for this challenge:

I have to admit that while I do like these colors they were a bit of a challenge for me.  With my limited stamping time I couldn't dawdle and play around with too many ideas.  I ended up using some of the smaller accent stamps from Pretty Perennials (which is still on my desk from my custom cards) to make a guy birthday card.

Nothing ground breaking here but it gets the job done!  I can't wait to see what you come up with for these colors so I can get some inspiration and try again!  Check out the fabulous ideas from the rest of the Fab Friday Design Team!

Berry Thank You - Stampin' Up! Berry Blessings - Fab Friday 209

The team at Fab Friday is back with another fantastic challenge!  We have a great sketch this time and can't wait to see how you interpret it!

Fun right?  I decided to flip my card because I couldn't get a sentiment to look right with the portrait layout so landscape it is!

I saw this color combination on a bedding set in a catalog and tore it out to remember to try on a card.  I like the neutral background using the same stamps as I did for the focal image grouping.

Once I got the background stamped I used the Layering Square dies to cut the Whisper White panel and then accented it with the Stitched with Whimsy dies.  I backed that with a piece of Misty Moonlight.

The berry sprigs are stamped in Misty Moonlight and Bumblebee and then fussy cut.  It really doesn't take much time at all so don't be intimidated to try!  I layered them on the square panel to mimic the little flags in the sketch and then popped the whole thing on dimensionals.

The sentiment from Sweet Strawberry was the perfect size to stamp to the right of the berries.  I used my dark Gray Granite Blends marker to color a length of crinkled seam binding ribbon to tie into a bow to adhere to the stems.

Check out what the Fab Friday Design Team has for you for inspiration and then play along!

Purple Perennial Sympathy - Stampin' Up! Pretty Perennials

We've made it through another week stampers!  It's Friday and the Fab Friday Challenge is celebrating with a new color challenge.

Unfortunately I needed a few sympathy cards this past week so I used these pretty colors to make a clean and simple design.  I think the Pretty Perennials set has been my go to for color challenges lately!  With so many images and die cuts it just works so well for multiple colors.

Going into this design I wanted it very clean and open so I stuck with a Whisper White thick card base and then layered an embossed Whisper White panel on top.  The Dainty Diamonds embossing folder is nice and subtle and I liked the mix of geometric with the floral.

The sentiment from Many Messages is stamped in Mossy Meadow onto a narrow strip of Mint Macaron.

I used a bit of Mossy Meadow cardstock for the Calypso Coral berry/buds? stems.  I layered 2 Mint Macaron leaves behind the Highland Heather flower that has multiple layers.  The whole cluster is popped on dimensionals.

Check out how the rest of the Fab Friday Design Team used these colors and then make your own to share in our gallery!

Kangaroo Birthday - Stampin' Up! Kangaroo & Comapny - Fab Friday 207

Whew!  Well we made through another week stampers!  It's Friday and time for a new Fab Friday challenge.  It's perfect if you'll be stuck inside this weekend due to bad weather and let's face it, there aren't that many places to go anymore these days!  Might as well stamp along with us at Fab Friday with a fun sketch challenge!

What are you going to do with that lovely, open panel?  Here's what I came up with!

I decided to focus a bit on some smaller images from the Kangaroo & Company.  It's easy to use the big kangaroo but I didn't want the little guy and the butterfly to get lost and figured they would look good together.  He's so cute looking up at the butterflies in the sky!

The card base is Whisper White thick covered in a piece of Ice Cream Corner DSP in a cute Terracotta Tile scallop pattern.

I added a bit more scallops in the way of a Stitched So Sweetly rectangle for the base of my images and backed it with a Gray Granite panel.

The kangaroo and butterflies are stamped in Memento Black and then colored.  For the kangaroo I used Gray Granite light, Ivory and Calypso Coral light Blends.  The butterflies are colored with regular Stampin' Write markers in Terracotta Tile, Gray Granite, Blushing Bride and Bumblebee.  Once they were all cut out I arranged the kangaroo on top of the sentiment flags and popped him with dimensionals.  The butterflies are popped on dimensionals around some stamped hearts.

For embellishments I added a tiny Blushing Bride baker's twine bow to the 'roo and then scattered little dots/gems around the sentiment.  After looking at it for a while I'm thinking I've got just too many little bits of things and it's a bit busy. Oh well, it is what it is!

Check out the Fab Friday Design Team inspiration and then join in!

Perennial Valentine - Stampin' Up! Pretty Perennials

Happy Friday stampers!  Did your week fly by or drag slowly on?  Mine went pretty quickly and here we are at a new Fab Friday Challenge!  We have a gorgeous color combo for you to try out.  My card came together so quickly I was worried that maybe I should make another one right away while the ideas were flowing!

So pretty right?  I can't wait to see what you will create!  For now here's my card for some inspiration!

I thought these colors would look really nice as a non-traditional Valentine's day card.  I started with the stamped and punched heart then added the sentiment and then the flowers and greenery in the back.  In an effort to use more of my supply stash that I had set aside for classes which are still not happening, I used a square vellum doily to back the heart/flower combo.

I layered all of that on top of a Whisper White and Blushing Bride Stitched Rectangle panel and adhered with dimensionals.  I added a few stamped Blushing Bride dots and 2 Just Jade enamel dots.

For more inspiration see what the rest of the Fab Friday Design Team did with these colors!  I always get so many great ideas from their cards!

Sweet Snail _ Stampin' Up! Snailed It - Fab Friday 205

Happy Friday stampers!  The Fab Friday Challenge is back after our holiday break and we've got a great sketch for you to work with this time.  Remember our challenge is 2 weeks long so there's plenty of time to share your creation in our gallery!

Look at that big main panel!  So many possibilities!!  I kept my top panel very clean and simple but go crazy and get creative!

I started with a Real Red base then a layer of Snail Mail DSP in a fun pink and red curly-q pattern.

For the top panel I used Whisper White and then used the Stitched with Whimsy dies to create what I think of as a little bit of a snail trail but way less slimy!

Next I stamped the sentiment from Many Messages in black.  The sweet snail is also stamped in black then colored in with Blends.  Once it was cut out I added a Blushing Bride baker's twine bow and then popped the snail on dimensionals.

And lastly a few Real Red resin hearts are added around the sentiment.

Head on over to the Fab Friday Challenge to see how the rest of the Design Team used this sketch!

Sweet Strawberry New Year Wish - Stampin' Up! Sweet Strawberry

Happy Friday!  The team at Fab Friday has a fun challenge to finish out 2020!  We hope you've had fun playing along with us this past year and we look forward to seeing you in 2021 which hopefully will be a much better year!

Don't panic over the 5 colors lol!  Ok well maybe panic a bit but then get to work.  I had a bit of a rough start and thought I would go with a Christmas card but then went in a different direction!

Thank goodness for inspiration from new supplies!  I received my pre-order on Tuesday and the Sweet Strawberry set seemed like it would fit the bill for these colors!  I decided to do a New years card for a fresh start and I always forget to send some people Christmas cards so they get a New Years card in return!

Card starts with a Seaside Spray In Color DSP and then a piece of Whisper White cut with a Stitched Rectangle die.  I stamped the flower/leaf stamp all over and then colored them in with ink pads and a blender pen.  The white space was then filled in with the Seaside Spray light Blends marker.

I stamped my strawberries in Poppy Parade and then stems in Shaded Spruce and punched them out with the Strawberry Builder punch.  I adhered them to a Stitched Shape circle in Whisper White with the top one popped with a dimensonal.

The sentiment is stamped in Versamark and embossed in white and layered to side of the circle.  The final touch is the green baker's twine bow.

Looking forward to seeing how creative you all get with these colors!  Be sure to share them in our gallery and take a peek at the rest of the Fab Friday Design Team samples.

Festive Wreath - Stampin' Up! Wreath Builder Dies

Happy Friday stampers!  Are you ready for a weekend of stamping?  Fab Friday has a new challenge to get your creativity going.  It's a sketch challenge this time and it's sure to give you lots of ideas....check out that circle element!

I went with Christmas of course!  I counted up my cards I don't think I have quite enough yet so I'll be plugging away this weekend so I have what I need.

I have been really liking the Just Jade, Shaded Spruce and Real Red combo for traditional Christmas colors and thought it would be perfect for a nice festive Christmas wreath.

I started with a Shaded Spruce base and then a layer of 'Tis the Season DSP.  Next is a panel of Whisper White embossed with the Dainty Diamonds embossing folder.  I thought it echoed the plaid nicely.  The little flag is also from 'Tis the Season DSP.

The wreath is 2 layers of Just Jade cut with the Wreath Builder dies.  I staggered the placement and adhered it to the card front with mini dimensionals. To decorate my wreath I cut 3 snowflakes from Brushed Metallic cardstock and placed them around the wreath.  A sheer Real Red ribbon bow is added as well.  A few gold sequins are added to spread the gold to the rest of the card.

Finally, I stamped the sentiment from Itty Bitty Christmas in Shaded Spruce, trimmed the ends and popped it on dimensionals.

Check out the Fab Friday Design Team to see how they were inspired to use this sketch!

Golden Thanksgiving - Stampin' Up! Beautiful Autumn - Fab Friday 202

Happy Friday!  We have a new challenge at Fab Friday today.  I think you'll like this color combination.  I needed another Thanksgiving card so I saw autumn but I think it's a great masculine birthday combo too.  I can't wait to see what you all come up with!

I think this will be my last fall card of the season before I hunker down to knock out all of my Christmas projects!

I decided to throw some gold in here too.  I've hoarded the Gilded Autumn paper since August and of course now I've decided it's time to use it!  Oh well!

I started with a Mint Macaron base with some images stamped along the outside edge.  Then a layer of the Gilded Autumn DSP cut with the Curvy Dies.  The large label is cut with the Tasteful Labels dies and a piece of Brushed Gold cardstock.

I stamped the sentiment in Mint Macaron on a strip of Very Vanilla and then layered that over the label and a piece of retired Mint Macaron ribbon.

The acorns are stamped in varying strengths of Cinnamon Cider.  The oak leaves are stamped in Bumblebee with the outline in full strength and the centers stamped off once.  After punching them out I arranged them down one side of the label with dimensionals.

Check out all the gorgeous designs from the Fab Friday Design Team and then share your own creation in our gallery!

Many Birthday Wishes - Stampin' Up! Many Mates

Gosh we are already back to Friday!  How do the days go by so fast?  Does this mean I'm old when I start saying things like that?  There are enough heavy things happening lately that we don't need to go there lol!  Let's stamp instead!  We have a new Fab Friday Challenge for you today.  It's a sketch challenge and I can't wait to see what you all do with it!

Look at all those fun layers!  Big ones and small ones!  Looks like a great opportunity to show off some DSP or create your own custom ones!

I went the easy route and used DSP but I still feel virtuous because I used some that is retired.  The stash is slowly going down...until the next catalog preorder! :)

I'm still on my "restock the birthday card stash" kick so here's another one.  This card starts with a Bermuda Bay card base then a layer of colorful Birthday Bonanza DSP.

The little Coastal Cabana embossed strip is made with the Tasteful Textile folder.  I used my stamparatus to stamp the sentiment from Many Mates multiple times down the Whisper White cardstock using Basic Gray ink.

I grabbed a few Blends and lightly colored in the words and then flagged the end and popped it on dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment one more time in Versamark on Mango Melody cardstock then embossed in white.  I used the Mango Melody dark Blends marker to color it in.  A bit of shimmer Bermuda Bay ribbon and some silver enamel dots and this card is finished.

Check out the rest of the Fab Friday Design Team for more inspiration and then get your project made and shared to our gallery!

Halloween Sampler - Stampin' Up! Festive Post

Happy Fab Friday Challenge day!  We're back at it again with a great color combination to help you stretch your stamping skills!  And it's a big day for us at Fab Friday; it's our 200th challenge!  Wow!  I've been on the Design Team from the beginning more than 8 years ago and have loved being a part of this talented group!  I hope you'll join in and help us celebrate by sharing your card to our challenge gallery!

Now don't be intimidated by the 5 colors because really black is a neutral and so easy to incorporate into a card.  I definitely only saw Halloween when I got a look at these colors so that's what I went with.

I mixed and matched images from the Festive Post and Banner Year stamp sets to make this spooky sampler using our challenge colors.  Each panel is stamped and then punched out with the Rectangular post stamp punch.  For the bat and spider web panels I punched them smaller to fit the space; it's so nice to have a punch that is versatile like that!

After getting all the panels arranged and popped with dimensionals over the Old World Paper embossed black card front I added some sequins, rhinestones, enamel dots , candy dots (when will I ever finish them??) and black baker's twine.  The October 31 panel is covered with clear Wink of Stella instead of an embellishment as I didn't have any left that matched!

I can't wait to see what you share in our gallery!  For more inspiration see what the rest of the Fab Friday Design Team created!

Christmas Cheer Sprig - Stampin' Up! Forever Fern - Fab Friday 199

Happy Friday everyone!  We have a new challenge at Fab Friday to celebrate the start of the weekend!  It's a fun sketch and I can't wait to see your beautiful creations shared to our gallery!

I raided my card parts pile to get a start on my card.  I already had the greenery sprig all ready to go as it was made but didn't work for another project so I built the rest of the card around that piece.

The card base is Real Red (which you can't see) topped with a piece of 'Tis the Season DSP.  The label is from Tasteful Labels dies and then embossed with the Dainty Diamonds embossing folder.

Using the Birds & More die I cut some more sprigs in Soft Sea Foam and gold foil to tuck under the label.

The main sprig is stamped 3 times on Garden Green cardstock in Garden Green ink using the Forever Fern stamp set and cut with the Forever Flourishing dies.  I added some adhesive pearls for berries.  The bow is a Real Red sheer fork bow.

The sentiment from Itty Bitty Christmas is stamped in Garden Green on Soft Sea Foam cardstock and cut with the banner die from Tasteful Labels and is popped on dimensionals.

Then final details are a few gold sequins around the sprigs.

I hope you'll check out the Fab Friday Design Team for more inspiration and then play along!

Color Blocked Leaves - Stampin' Up! Here's a Card - Fab Friday 198

It's Friday!!  Come join us at the newest Fab Friday Challenge!  We've got a cool color combination today!

These colors just seemed like masculine colors to me.  I used them to make a birthday card because I needed a few guy birthday cards to fulfill a card order I recently received.

This card starts with a Misty Moonlight base.  I sponged the color blocks using some stencils I made buy cutting the shapes out of some scrap cardstock and then overlapping some of the edges of colors. After the sponging I cut the Whisper White panel with the Stitched Rectangle dies for a little details on the edge.

I stamped the sentiment in Misty Moonlight then cut it out with a Tasteful Label die.  I trimmed the excess on the one side and adhered with dimensionals.

The leaves are cut with the Gathered Leaves dies (a returning fave from last year's mini catalog - page 47 this year!) in the challenge colors then adhered with dimensionals.

A tiny braided linen trim knot on the Misty Moonlight leaf and some Bumblebee In Color enamel dots on the sentiment label are the only embellishments used to keep it appropriately masculine.

I hope you'll join us by sharing your creation for this color challenge in our gallery!  For more inspiration see the rest of the Design Team samples here.

Chalkboard Thanks - Stampin' Up! Ornate Thanks - Fab Friday 197

Well we've made it to Friday after a short first week of back to school.  So far so good but it's nice that we have the weekend to gear back up for 5 whole days next week!  I hope you'll have time to stamp over the weekend and play along with us at Fab Friday Challenge with this fun sketch challenge.

My thank you card stash is still a bit low so I used that as my starting point when designing my card.  Remember the chalkboard technique from a few years ago?  It's basically stamping in white craft ink and then lightly sponging more craft ink for the dusty look.  Or as I did it on my card I stamped and embossed the sentiment in white embossing powder and then swiped the craft ink.  I didn't trust myself to put the card together and not smudge the whole thing if I used just craft ink!  I'm messy like that!

I started with a Balmy Blue card base, then another layer of Balmy Blue embossed with the Dainty Diamonds embossing folder.

For the chalkboard frame I used a piece of In Good Taste and cut it out with Stitched Rectangle dies.  the board part is Basic Black with the stamping and sponging. The whole panel is popped on dimensionals.

The decorations are made with the Arrange a Wreath stamps and coordinating Wreath Builder dies.  They work pretty well as sunflowers right?  I used Bumblebee, Garden Green and Early Espresso for the colors.

Once I had the little banner stamped and trimmed I arranged the flowers around it and popped them on dimensionals.

Check out the rest of the Fab Friday Design Team for more inspiration for this versatile sketch!

Autumn Wreath - Stampin' Up! Arrange a Wreath - Fab Friday 196

After taking a quick summer break the Fab Friday Challenge team is back with a brand new challenge for you.  If these challenge colors don't make you think of fall then I really want to see your project shared in the challenge gallery because that's all I could see with this palette!

One of the reasons I love the Arrange a Wreath bundle is that is covers all seasons and events.  I thought a nice start on a few Thanksgiving cards were order.  I imagine I'll probably be sending out more Thanksgiving cards than normal as we most likely won't be seeing as much family as usual.

The card base is Cajun Craze and under the wreath panel I've put a strip or torn Cinnamon Cider and a length of Very Vanilla scalloped lace trim.

The wreath is stamped in Bumblebee ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock.  I stamped a few oak leaves in Cinnamon Cider and Cajun Craze ink onto the same color cardstock.  I cut them out along with a few little sprigs in the copper Brushed Metallic cardstock for a bit of an accent.  I layered them all along one side of the wreath and popped them on dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the Banner Year stamp set and is stamped in Cinnamon Cider ink.  I flagged the end and slipped it under the edge of the leaves and adhered it with a dimensional.

As a final touch I doubled up a length of linen thread and tied a bow for the edge of the sentiment banner.

All in all a quick fall card with some beautiful fall colors.  Head over to see the rest of the Fab Friday Design Team samples and then play along!

Beautiful Blues & Yellows - Stampin' Up! Beautiful Autumn - Fab Friday 195

Fab Friday is back with a fun sketch challenge this time around.  Look at that big panel!!  So many things you can do with it!

I paired the sketch with my own personal challenge to my local stampers.  I gave them the card on page 121 of the Annual Catalog as an inspiration.  My stampers could take the colors, layout or floral images as their starting point. I decided to used the colors as my inspiration and thought my new Beautiful Autumn stamp set would be fun to try out.

The Beautiful Autumn stamp set is bundled with the Autumn Punch pack but I decided to just use the images in this set that don't have a matching punch to see what I could come up with.

I started with a Misty Moonlight card base.  I created my own DSP for the large sketch panel using Misty Moonlight in full strength and stamped off once, Bumblebee in full strength and stamped off once and finally Seaside Spray.

I edged the 2 sides of the DSP panel with trimmed bits of the new Square Vellum doilies (page 153 Anual catalog in case you missed them!).

The sentiment is embossed in white onto Misty Moonlight and I highlighted the end of it with 2 stamped leaf stalks in Bumblebee which I fussy cut and popped on dimensionals.  I added a tiny linen thread bow to the stems for a final detail.

Bright Boy Birthday - Stampin' Up! The Right Triangle

Not only is it Friday today it's a Fab Friday Challenge day!  Woo-Hoo!  We've got a fantastic color combo for you this time!

This color combo came at the perfect time when I needed to make a birthday card for my oldest who just turned 14.  Yikes!  I'm not old enough to have a 14 year old is all I know!  lol!

I combined these fun, bright colors with the Right Triangle stamp set and dies as well as the Playful Alphabet dies.

I cut  variety of triangles out of the challenge colors; stamped some of them with the Right Triangle patterns and then arranged them on top of a piece of Whisper White embossed with the Subtle embossing folder.

To make the fun puffy letters I used the new Foam Adhesive Sheets with the Playful Alphabet dies.  The foam sheets are basically dimensionals that aren't cut so you can die cut your shapes right from it.  I cut a second set of letters in Whisper White and applied those for a nice smooth look.

The "birthday" banner is stamped with the Well Said stamp set and embossed in white and highlighted with a Bermuda Bay candy dot.

I hope to see your creation with these colors in our gallery!  Check out more inspiration from the rest of the Fab Friday Design Team!
