As soon as I opened up the newest challenge at Freshly Made Sketches I knew what I wanted to do! That doesn't happen often; most of the time I ponder a challenge for a day or 2 before trying something out. This time I pulled out the supplies and got to work on this Christmas card.
I started with a Misty Moonlight base and then layered a piece of Basic White and a smaller piece of Misty Moonlight. The top layer of Basic White is stamped in Versamark with the Falling Snow background and embossed with silver. I just got the new Stampin' Up! embossing powders and the silver works wonderfully! I think my old ones had lost some pizzazz as they weren't melting evenly anymore for some reason but now I'm back in the game!
Next I worked on the sentiment to go with the challenge layout. I cut out letters with the retired Playful Alphabet dies using a piece of Iconic Celebrations DSP and foam adhesive sheets to give the letters a nice pop.
The thing that took the longest for this card was to get the letters lined up and evenly spaced. I think I did pretty well overall!
Finally I stamped the snowflake from the Iconic Imagery stamp set and embossed it in silver and cut it out and added it to the top of the card. A tinsel gem in Misty Moonlight accents the center.
Definitely don't overlooked making custom greetings with your alphabet dies and if they are big enough they can absolutely be the focal point of your card.
Thanks for looking! Did you stamp today?

Well, that Falling Snow background stamp was totally missed by me in the catalog...but how cute is it here, embossed the way you did! Amazing! Love the letters (they're perfect) and that pretty little Iconic snowflake is the perfect embellishment! I predict a winner!
