Soft Seashells - Stampin' Up! Friends Are Like Seashells

It's back to work or school at our house today.  That alarm clock seemed to go off way too early but we are plowing through the first morning back in a routine.  I think we all might hit the wall at about 2pm today!  Until then I'll keep checking items off my to-do list (it's quite long after not doing very much the last 2 weeks!).

First up on the stamping to-do list is to share this card that I made with the beautiful new stamp set Friends Are Like Seashells.  This set will be available for customers to order starting tomorrow.  You can find the whole Sand & Sea suite in the new Jan.-June Mini catalog.

It's quite a change from all the winter and Christmas colors I had been using.  I kept to the Subtles color collection for this card.  The card base is Soft Sea Foam with another slightly smaller Soft Sea Foam layer embossed with the Subtle embossing folder.

Next I die cut the large seashell/seaweed panel out of the beautiful new Pearlescent Specialty Paper.  It's got a lovely pearly sheen and is much lighter weight than the metallic papers.  I used an aquapainter and colored it with a bit of Soft Sea Foam ink for a little tone on tone detail.

Next I stamped the different shells in stamped off Sahara Sand, Blushing Bride, and Balmy Blue.  The largest shell at the bottom is full strength Sahara Sand.  I cut out the shells then adhered them to the background piece and then popped the whole panel up with dimensionals onto the card front.

The sentiment is stamped in Sahara Sand on Very Vanilla cardstock then I used the Tasteful Label dies to cut it out.  A bit of new Fine Art ribbon accents the edge.  A few mini adhesive pearls are the final touch for this thinking of you card.

Thanks for looking!  Did you stamp today?

  1. I love the soft colors like the bleached out colors of the beach. I can't wait to order this set along with the embossing folders.

  2. This is SO soft and pretty! I like how you used only a portion of the die.
