Snowflake Shadow - Stampin' Up! Snowflake Wishes - Paper Players 524

Good morning stampers!  Is it cold where you are or is it hot and you are wishing for some cold weather?  Well I can't help with your weather but I can help with some stamping inspiration!  The Paper Players have a fun new challenge today.  Claire has given us the theme of a Clean and Simple Snow challenge!  So fun!

Thanks to Claire for making me get off my butt and stamp some thank you cards because I am way behind on Christmas thank yous!!

This cards starts with a Crumb Cake base, then a layer of Whisper White, then another layer of Crumb Cake which I scored a little border around the edges.

To make the cool little shadow detail I die cut the snowflake shape that I wanted to stamp and adhered it to the card front with re-positional adhesive and then lightly sponged around it with white craft ink.  After it was covered as much as I wanted I peeled it off leaving a nice open snowflake.

Next I stamped and embossed in white the coordinating snowflake and die cut it.  I popped it over the shadow and off set the orientation.

The sentiment from the new Sweet Strawberry set is stamped and embossed under the snowflake.

Final details are the linen thread bow and faceted gem in Seaside Spray for the center of the snowflake.

See what the rest of the Paper Players Design Team did with this fun challenge!

  5. I'm behind on Christmas thank yous too so I am relieved I'm not the only one, but I digress - I love this CAS snowflake and the idea of the sponging then rotating the diecut is genius - the perfect additional detail without straying from a clean and simple layout. Fabulous Amanda - I LOVE it!
