Masculine Birthday Banners - Stampin' Up! Stylish Shapes Dies

I needed a masculine birthday card and saw the Freshly Made Sketches challenge and thought it would be a good fit.  My end results are not quite in keeping with the challenge layout so I'm not going to share it over there but definitely wanted to give credit for the idea!  My banners ended up being too wide not leaving enough open space on one side like the sketch.  I still love how it came out and it was fun to use the large banner from the new Stylish Shapes die set.

I did use colors from the Color Throwdown challenge though so I'll be sharing it over there.  These are great guy colors and I was so happy to have DSP for all three!

I started with a Night of Navy base, then a layer of Basic White embossed with the Brick & Mortar embossing folder.

Next I cut 3 banners and then snipped the end off one side to create the space for the stamped sentiment.  I lined the banners up and adhered the pieces with dimensionals.  I added a baker's twine bow to the Crushed Curry banner before adhering.

I really like the size of this banner die, it can be used for a larger feature on a card front, for sentiments or for trimming and just using the flagged ends.

Thanks for looking!  Did you stamp today?

Stamps: Sweet Ice Cream

Ink: Night of Navy

Paper: Night of Navy, Basic White, Tea Boutique DSP, Well Suited DSP (retired)

Accessories: Brick & Mortar embossing folder, Stylish Shapes dies, dimensionals, baker's twine
