Spring Petals Thank You - Stampin' Up! Hand-Penned Petals

I designed this sweet floral card as a thank you for a group of volunteers at my church.  I needed to make 25 of them so I kept it super simple and clean.  I love the soft spring colors which look so lovely on these flowers.  The sentiment from Inspired Thoughts is embossed in white and the background panel is embossed with the retired Subtle embossing folder.

Follow Your Dreams Rainbow - Stampin' Up! Rainbow of Happiness

This is the third card we made at my last class.  I wanted to highlight the Rainbow of Happiness set since it isn't carrying over into the new annual catalog.  There's still a month left to order it so don't wait too long if it's still on your wishlist!

I thought that an encouraging card that could be a graduation card is perfect for this time of year.  I paired the Through it Together stamp set with the rainbow and my stampers could mix and match the sentiments that they wanted.  They all fit in the cloud punch so no need to alter the design when changing the sentiment.

This card starts with a Crumb Cake base.  Next is a piece of Pool Party that we cut the fun scallop detail along one edge and then stamped some of the Stitchery stamps in white craft ink.  It's hard to see in the photo but it adds just the right amount of texture without being too busy.  I just lined 3 of the stamps on an I block and stamped it twice.

The rainbow is stamped and then hand cut (do you see the In Color sneak peek??).  The clouds are punched and then stamped with the sentiments in Basic Gray. The rainbow and one cloud are popped on dimensionals.

A baker's twine bow is tied to the top of the scallop detail and a few iridescent rhinestones are added to the 2 bottom clouds.

Tropical Dad Vibes - Stampin' Up! Paradise Palms

Our weather has been trending cooler since Tuesday but soon enough we'll be having those warm summer days and hopefully by the time Father's Day rolls around we'll be outside enjoying it all.  Whether or not you get those warm tropical breezes or just end up sweating in the humidity like us in Richmond we can make cards no matter the weather!

We made this card at my last class and I designed it to be more of a masculine feel for either Father's day or a guy birthday.  Just switch out the sentiment for you need!

This one starts with a Basic White thick base, then using blending brushes and a Basic White panel we added (left to right) Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana and Balmy Blue ink and then embossed it with the Stripes embossing folder for a fun texture.  The blended panel was then backed with a slightly larger piece of Basic Black.

The palm tree, grassy mound and medallion strip are cut in Basic black and then layered onto the card front.

Using the Tailored Tags die we cut a tag for our sentiment.  We stamped off the palm tree stamp in Coastal Cabana and stamped it on the background of the tag twice.  The sentiment is layered over the palm tree in Memento black.  Some black bakers twine and Sea Glass shapes are added to the tag before popping it up on dimensionals.  The Happy & Heartfelt sentiment set is wonderful for all kinds of occasions and even to mix and match with the sentiments in the Paradise Palms set.

Pumpkin & Papaya Tulips - Stampin' Up! Flowering Tulips

My stampers made this super easy fun fold at class this week using the Flowering Tulips stamp set and Flowering Fields DSP.   The fun fold is called the bookbinding fold and gives you a fun square panel to work with on the front as well as the on inside of the card.

All you need to do to make this fold is cut your 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock down the center the long way so you end up with two 4 1/4" x 11 card bases.  Score at 5 1/2" and 6 3/4" and then adhere the one inch hinged part so you get the square front to be the part that opens.  I love this fold as it gives a perfect spot to show off a one inch wide piece of DSP on the "book binding" part of the card.  We all have those one inch strips we can't part with!  This is the layout to use to show them off!  I mixed and matched the orange patterned Flowering Fields design using one side for behind the tulip and the other for the binding part.

The Stamparatus was used to stamp the flowers in Pumpkin Pie and Pale Papaya and then Evening Evergreen for the leaves and stem.  We filled in some of the open "white" parts of the leaves with the light Soft Succulent blends marker. This little step adds a bit of depth and detail to the leaves. The circle was cut with the new Stylish Shapes dies.

The sentiment is stamped in Evening Evergreen on Soft Succulent cardstock and then punched out and popped with dimensionals.  For the embellishments we used the windowpane ribbon and a brushed brass butterfly.

A quick change of sentiment and this card can be for just about any occasion.

Baby Card Two Ways - Stampin' Up! Biggest Wish

I haven't had a baby stamp set in quite some time but every once in a while I do need a baby card and because I'm a resourceful stamper (lol!) I can always make a card for the occasion.  I designed today's card for my last Quick & Easy card class and made it so the stamper could choose pink or blue or do a mix for a gender neutral card.

I focused on the larger 'hello' stamp from Biggest Wish and paired with the smaller 'hello baby' stamp from Happy & Heartfelt.  A fun black & white DSP from the Pattern Party pack gives a nice neutral to work with.

I used Polished Pink and Balmy Blue for the accent colors and the Sweet Hearts dies for the tag and little heart.  The heart stamp is found in the Sweet Conversations stamp set.

Row of Tulips - Stampin' Up! Tulip Dies

The Global Design Project has a fun wide open theme for their challenge this week; Flowers!  I can definitely work with that especially this time of year.  I didn't do much stamping on this card but focused on creating a bright colorful card using the row of tulips die from the Tulip die set.

Starting with a Basic White thick card base I added a panel of Pool Party embossed with the Splatters embossing folder.  Next, I cut a strip of tulips out of Basic White and using my Stampin' Blends markers I colored them in alternating colors all the way down the row.  I tucked the tulips behind a piece of Old Olive embossed with the Stripes embossing folder.

The Windmill Fields dies were used to add the clouds in the sky.  I used the new Stylish Shapes dies to cut the banner and stamped the sentiment from Happy & Heartfelt and colored in the little heart in 'mom'.  I tied a piece of retired Daffodil Delight seam binding ribbon around the end and then popped it up on dimensionals.  A few retired Old Olive enamel shapes finish the details of this card.

This was a fun, cheerful card to put together to celebrate Mother's Day.

Spring Tea Cup - Stampin' Up! Cup of Tea *Sneak Peek*

I'm continuing to play around with some of my new 2023-24 Annual Catalog products that I got in the demonstrator pre-order.  The Cup of Tea bundle seems like it will be a very versatile set for me.  I decided to do a birthday card with it using the Seize the Birthday theme of 'Signs of Spring'  I thought the colors and the little tiny flowers were just right for a spring birthday card.  I've been seeing a lot of tiny little flowers sprouting up in the woods on my daily walk so that is definitely a sign of spring to me.

I started with a Basic White thick card base then topped it with a piece of Tea Boutique DSP in a cutie tiny floral print.  I mimicked the little flowers by stamping the leaf stamp in Garden Green then filling in the open leaves with the light Parakeet Party Blends.  I stamped the little flowers and buds in Crushed Curry and Fresh Freesia then cut them out and placed them on the greenery.

The tea cup is cut out of another pattern from the Tea Boutique DSP and is popped on dimensional. I added a little stamped tea bag with adie cut heart and then the sentiment from Through it Together is stamped in Tahitian Tide.

I added a little embossed 'enjoy' flag towards the top and out one of my leftover flower buds on it to carry on the theme.

Such a sweet little card if I do say so myself!

Triple Decker Birthday - Stampin' Up! Sweet Ice Cream

There isn't much time left to order from the 2022-23 Annual Catalog.  The Last Chance list will be ending on May 2 so it's a last push to get some stamping time in with these retiring products.  I decided to use the Sweet Ice Cream set for my last Quick & Easy Card class for a sweet birthday card.

Just a simple layout showing off those sweet scoops.  The cone is stamped with Crumb Cake and the scoops are stamped in Flirty Flamingo three times without re-inking the stamp so we end up with 3 shades of the same color.  The scoops are punched out and then stacked up with dimensionals.  A rhinestone that is colored with the Bermuda Bay Blends marker tops the top scoop.

The Happy Birthday sentiment is stamped in Pool Party and a sweet rainbow strip of the Pattern Party Host DSP is adhered along the edge.

Rain or Shine Friend - Stampin' Up! Flowering Rain Boots

I'm getting this card shared in the nick of time before the Color Throwdown challenge closes this evening.  They had such a great spring color combination this time that I just had to find time to play along.  I paired the colors up with the CAS April Showers theme over at The Paper Players.

Aren't these soft colors beautiful?  And having it all on a plain white card front with just a bit of a die cut border definitely keeps this one in the Clean and Simple arena.

Orchid Garden Friendship - Stampin' Up! Cup of Tea *Sneak Peek*

Happy Easter to all those who celebrate! I hope you have a lovely day celebrating with friends and family.  For those who don't celebrate Easter I hope you have a restful and restorative weekend filled with things you love.

I love stamping which is clearly no secret since you're here!  And I've been having a lot of fun creating with some new sets that will be available to all on May 3.  I ordered the Cup of Tea bundle during the demo pre-order and am just starting to play around with all the pieces.  You get 20 stamps and 17 different dies in the bundle so there are a lot of mixing and matching possibilities.  And it's always nice to be able to use some of the stamps that aren't necessarily the main images.

I used the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge to use one of the leaf sprigs and one of the flowers from the Cup of Tea set to create this friendship themed card using 2 new In Colors.

I started with an Orchid Oasis card base and then topped that with a layer of Basic White embossed with the Subtle embossing folder.  I rounded the bottom corners before adhering.

I cut 2 narrow strips of the new In Color Glimmer paper to layer along the bottom according to the sketch; one in Orchid Oasis and one in Starry Sky.

The leaves are stamped in Garden Green and die cut and the flowers are stamped in Orchid Oasis and layered following the sketch.

The itty bitty sentiment is stamped in Starry Sky and popped with trimmed down dimensionals.  I really liked how these 2 new In Colors paired with the classic Garden Green.

A Note of Thanks - Stampin' Up! Sweet Songbirds *Sneak Peek*

After a super busy week I have found a bit of time to play along with some of my favorite challenges.  This card is inspired by the sketch at CAS Colours & Sketches.  I though the Sweet Songbirds from the upcoming annual catalog would fit this sketch perfectly and I'm also sharing at the Alphabet Challenge where they are doing the letter A for Animal Antics.

I am using new In Colors on this card and the Sweet Sorbet is perfect for this sweet little singing bird!  I used it for the bird as well as the Card base.

I started with a piece of Basic White and using a stencil I made with a rectangle die I blended some Pool Party ink to make a rectangle in the background to follow the sketch.  The I stamped the branch and leaves (also a new In Color; Parakeet Party).

The bird legs are stamped in Mango Melody and then the bird and wing are stamped in Sweet Sorbet.  The bird is hand cut but the wing and beak are punched out with the Songbird Builder punch.  I popped the wing and then the whole bird up with dimensionals.  Isn't he/she such a little sassy looking bird?  His little feather tuft on the top of his just makes me smile!

I few music notes are stamped in Memento Black to finish off this design.  I didn't add any embellishments to keep it Clean and Simple.

Cup of Healing - Stampin' Up! Cup of Tea *SNEAK PEEK*

I'm at that weird in between season of Stampin' Up! when I want to play with my new pre-order items but also feel compelled to give some last bits of love to retiring products.  So the only way to address that is to design projects that use both old and new!

I designed today's card for my Quick & Easy Card Class.  If you're in the Richmond, VA area and want to give stamping a try for the first time or just want to enjoy some more stamping time with other crafters check out my calendar and see if an upcoming date works for you!

This get well card uses the new Cup of Tea stamp set and that matching Teacup dies (both available on May 3) and it pairs perfectly with the soon to be retired Hand-Penned DSP.  I punched the circle out of the DSP and then put a piece of Basic White behind it to stamp the sentiment in Mint Macaron.

The tea cup is stamped in Highland Heather and then die cut.  It's popped on dimensionals and then a piece of Mint Macron ribbon is threaded through the handle.  A large Brushed Brass Butterfly decorates the ribbon and a small one highlights the sentiment.

I'm not even much of a tea drinker but I know this bundle will be really fun to create with to make all kinds of cards.

Special Day Songbird - Stampin' Up! Sweet Songbird *Sneak Peek*

I made an unboxing video the other day showing all the products that I ordered from the demonstrator pre-order and at the end I asked which stamp set I should use first.  Two of my local stampers voted for the Sweet Songbirds stamp set so that's what I did.  If you'd like to watch the video you can see it on my Instagram: @didyoustamptoday  Stop over and say hi when you find me!

I saw the current challenge at Global Design Project and liked the layout but didn't end up making a slim line card so I won't be sharing it over there but wanted to give credit for the layout to the team over at GDP.

Every thing on this card except for the Soft Suede ink, Crumb Cake cardstock and sequins are new products coming out in the upcoming 2022-2023 Annual Catalog.

The Sweet Songbird stamp set is paired up in a bundle with the Songbird Builder punch.  I used the punch for the bird, wing, and beak on this card.

I also used a few new In Colors.  Can you spot them?  The card base, bird and sentiment strips are all Tahitian Tide.  The leaves are stamped in Parakeet Party and the DSP is also Parakeet Party and you can find it in the (also new)Tea Boutique 6x6 pack.  The last new In Color that I used is Starry Sky ink to stamp the sentiment strips.

What a fun set and I'm so glad that I ordered it!  It will be fun to play around and create fun bird cards.

If you're into bird stamps then check out the soon to be retiring bird sets: Birds & Branches (#152570) and Free as a Bird (#149468).  Order now while supplies last and they will tide you over until you can get your hands on the Sweet Songbirds bundle!

Unique Special Day - Stampin' Up! Uniquely Artistic

One of the many great things about being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is being able to sign up for demonstrator only events hosted by Stampin' Up!.  Throughout the year SU puts on various events for us to show off new products, give business tips and generally just build on the community feelings.  By signing up for an upcoming event we received a new stamp set from the upcoming 2022-2023 Annual catalog.  It was a surprise which stamp set we would receive and I was the recipient of the Uniquely Artistic stamp set which is a two step, distINKtive style set which I am excited to play around with.

I've not had a lot of stamping time lately but I did get to put some ink on the Uniquely Artistic set and came up with this pretty blue/pink combo.

I gave my Misty Moonlight quite a workout with this one by stamping the background using the large flower and smaller leaf stamps.  I then stamped the leaf twice more on a die cut circle.  I stamped another flower and then filled it in with Polished Pink and then fussy cut it.  I popped it up on dimensionals slightly overhanging the edge of the circle.

The sentiment is also stamped in Misty Moonlight onto Polished Pink cardstock.  It's also popped on dimensionals with a length of Misty Moonlight ribbon behind it.

I added a few Champagne Rhinestones for a bit of sparkle to finish up the details.

I'm excited to try out some more ideas with this stamp set.  I see it becoming one of my go-to all purpose sets.  If you're interested in learning more about the benefits of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator please reach out.  I'd love to share the positive impact it could have for you!

New Horizons Sympathy - Stampin' Up! Beauty of Friendship

Happy Monday!  I hope you all had a fun and/or restorative weekend!  We were on spring break last week so it's even harder to get back in the swing of things today!  This week is crazy busy with a ton of commitments for the entire family so I'm trying to gear myself up to be super organized and productive so nothing slips through the cracks. Of course sharing cards is always one of my priorities so I'm back today with another card I made a while back since there was no stamping last week on vacation!

The New Horizons DSP makes a great background for sympathy cards.  I highly recommend using this paper and creating several sympathy cards to have on hand 'just in case'.  You never want to have to send them but you will always need them.  It's best to design and stamp them when there isn't sadness or a time pressure involved.

I paired the soft watercolored background with a tree stamped and die cut with the Beauty of Friendship bundle.  The trunk is Soft Suede and is stamped directly onto the the DSP and the tree top is two step stamping with Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen and then die cut.

The birds are from the On the Horizon stamp set and the sentiment is from Inspired Thoughts.

The Beauty of Friendship stamp is carrying over to the new catalog but the coordinating Beautiful Trees dies are retiring.  Don't ask me why they both aren't carrying over but if you want this bundle order it soon before it's too late.  You have until May 2 to place orders from 2021-2022 Annual Catalog.  Many items on the retiring list are on sale so head over to my shop and place your order today.

Scalloped Rainbow - Stampin' Up! Rainbow of Happiness

I made today's card a while back and never got around to sharing it.  Every card made with the Rainbow of Happiness bundle is so cute and I don't think you can go wrong with a rainbow card for most occasions.  This card could be a basic hello or even a birthday card.

I love that the Brilliant Rainbow dies have these fun scallop dies to add a bit detail that echoes the arches of the rainbow elements.  For this card I used the long open scallops down the card front and the little full scallop strip under the stamped image.

This card just makes me smile with the cheerful colors, texture from the Stripes & Splatters embossing folder and bit of sparkle from the Artistry Blooms sequins.  I hope it brought a smile to your face too!

Horizon Cards - Stampin' Up! On the Horizon Bundle

Just popping online to share 2 super easy cards using the On the Horizon bundle.  Using just one sheet of the of the New Horizons DSP you can get 2 beautiful cards.  Cut the DSP in half down the center and trim to fit the length of a card front and use one piece on each card.

I used the bird stamp on both cards and the trees on the bottom card.  I used the dies to add some hills and mountains to the top card.  Both have sentiments popped on dimensionals.

What did I say about easy??  I don't think you can ever go wrong with the New Horizons DSP!

Island Birthday Vibes - Stampin' Up! Paradise Palms

Now that the weather is getting warmer and we are looking towards spring and summer it was high time that the Paradise Palms bundle was used for one of my classes.  I got my color inspiration from this card by Su Mohr.  I loved the use of the purples to create the tropical scene.

It's another poor photo from a dark and dreary day but trust me that in person this card looks better!  The clouds were all stamped in Fresh Freesia in varying degrees of stamped off ink.  The palms trees are stamped in Blackberry Bliss and the 'land' is cut from a piece of Heart & Home DSP.  The bottom edge is torn for an easy bit of texture.

The birthday greeting is stamped in Garden Green and cut with the Tasteful Label dies and a bit of retired Blackberry Bliss ribbon (any matching current ribbon could be substituted or color your own with Stampin' Blends markers)

A few Iridescent Rhinestones add a bit of sparkle around the palm trees for a finishing touch.

Dutch Door Windmill Scene - Stampin' Up! Tulips Fields

My stampers made this fun card at my last class and I hope they enjoyed it as much as I did designing it.  I wanted to show off the adorable windmill dies in the Windmill Fields die set and also use some of the Flowering Fields DSP.  The DSP can be a bit busy if using too large of a piece and I didn't want the windmill to get lost among all the bright flowers so I decided to make the card front a bit of a scene with a split front, kind of like a dutch door, to show off the different elements to their best.

With a piece of Basic White thick I cut off the top half of the front fold so you can see the Pool Party insert on the inside of the card giving the scene a nice sky with some stamped clouds as well as some die cut clouds.  This allows for the top of the windmill to show up better and not be lost amongst the tulip pattern at the bottom.

Once the windmill was die cut and and the pieced adhered we used a brad to allow the arms to spin and then popped the bottom of the windmill up on the flap with dimensionals.  Make sure you are careful with your dimensional placement so none of them will adhere to the insert or you won't be able to open your card!

The inside and outside sentiments are from Happy & Heartfelt and a few Brushed Brass Butterflies embellish the card front.  Change out the sentiments to whatever you need and it's a great all occasion card!
