I think this week I will be back to a regular posting schedule as "spring break" is over and everyone is back to a routine! The room we were re-doing is almost finished, just a few odds and ends to get it where I want. If anyone has a quality chair cover brand or website that's the main thing I need to buy. But now that the house projects are finished (for now) I was able to sit down and make a few cards yesterday afternoon. I was inspired by the Paper Players challenge theme of "travel". I didn't have many supplies that fit but it's not called a challenge for nothing!
The boat in the carry over stamp set Choose Happy was about the only stamp that worked with the travel theme so I went with it! I started with an Azure Afternoon card base, then used 2 more pieces and cut the wavy edge with the Ocean Friends dies on both. Both pieces were then embossed with the Soft Waves embossing folder. The top panel is popped on dimensionals. The Ocean Friends stamp and die set are on the Last Chance list so don't wait if you've got them on your wish list!
Next I stamped the boat in Memento Black on a wonky circle (cut with the Around It All dies). I masked off the bottom edge of the boat with a post it and then lightly blended some Balmy Blue ink to make the water. I used the Azure Afternoon Stampin' Write marker to add some waves to the water. I colored the boat with Blends markers and then popped the wonky circle on dimensionals.
The sentiment is stamped and trimmed down and then popped on dimensionals. A bakers twine bow decorates one side and a few Adhesive-Backed Dots for Days are added near the sentiment.
