After being under the weather over the weekend I've found myself a bit behind on stuff around the house so I haven't gotten in the stamp room much but I do have a card I made last week before the bug hit me. I missed the deadline for entering it in the challenge gallery but the original color inspiration was from the Just Add Ink challenge. Yellow and gray are always a pretty combo but I admit that I get stuck on how to use them together sometimes. I went with the 'unlikely to occur in nature' theme and did a flower!
The upcoming new bundle Gallery Blooms is so pretty with some nice sized images so I decided to go clean and simple and kept the layers and extras to a minimum.
I started with a Basic White card base, then used a piece of Basic White to stamp the flower on it in Basic Gray. I tore off the edge of the panel and then added a strip of Country Lace DSP in a soft gray stripe pattern just peeking out.
I colored the leaves of the flowers in Smoky Slate Blends and then stamped another flower on scrap cardstock and colored those with Daffodil Delight and Lemon Lolly Blends and then fussy cut them. I popped the cut out flowers on dimensionals onto the card front. This is a great way to give an image dimension without die cutting the whole thing. It keeps most of the focus on the flowers.
The sentiment is from another upcoming set called Beautiful Motifs which is actually a part of the the same suite as the Gallery Blooms bundle so they complement each other nicely. I stamped it in Basic Gray and then cut it out with s simple label shape from the Unbounded Love dies.
Finally a few Adhesive-Backed Shiny Sequins are added to finish the card.
Thanks for looking! Did you stamp today?
