Classic Christmas Wreath - Stampin' Up! Wreath Builder Dies

It was 52 degrees this morning when I woke up!  If that doesn't get one thinking about Christmas I don't know what does!  Spring and fall in central Virginia can be so crazy with the temperature swings that I have like 3 outfits hanging out on reserve so I can quickly switch throughout the day to follow the heat (or cold).  I won't feel comfortable taking the shorts out of my drawers until late October just in case.  So I guess I'll be sharing more Christmas cards until the temps swing back up and I'll switch back to summer flowers and beachy themes!

My card today is for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.  The circles made it a no brainer for me to do a wreath.  I could have stretched my brain to do something crazy but I'm not really that kind of girl!  And 2020 is tough enough as it is right?? A classic Christmas wreath it is!

If you've got a significant other or child that likes to Big Shot then this a is great card to get them to help you make.  It's all Big Shot with a tiny bit of stamping.

I started with a Real Red card base and then a piece of Wonder of the Season Specialty DSP.  This is the first time I've used it and I dithered about trying to decide which foil sheet to use and I had finally decided on one of the red sheets but then when I started putting the card together I ended up liking the printed typeset side better.  Go figure.  I'll get the foil patterns on cards soon.  It's too cool not to use.

For the wreath I cut 2, one in Garden Green and one in Mint Macaron.  They are layered and popped on dimensionals.

The sentiment is stamped and embossed in gold and and die cut with the Stitched Shapes dies and also popped.

For the embellishments I did a fork bow with the Real Red sheer ribbon in the mini catalog.  It ties wonderfully for this kind of bow.   And it's a bit hard to see in the photo but I added some pearl clusters around the wreath for a bit of shine.

Thanks for looking!  Did you stamp today?

  1. This is so pretty...I've not used this paper yet either, just waiting for the right time! I love the diecuts made into a wreath, it's a perfect way to jump into Christmas card making! And yes, it is 40 degrees here in PA this morning, yikes!
