Spring Flower Basket - Stampin' Up! Easter Basket

   Happy Easter to all who celebrate!  I had some time this afternoon while my short ribs are cooking in the crock pot before I have to start the collards so I thought I would share a card my stampers made at my last class.  While you may think the time for the Easter Basket bundle is finished I'm here to tell you that this basket is perfect for all year.  The card today has some pretty spring flowers in it but you could put whatever you want into the basket no matter the time of year!

  I went with cheery spring colors for this design.  The card base is Highland Heather, then a layer of Fresh Freesia.  The Basic White layer is die cut with the Textured Notes dies and that is where all the stamping action happens.

  Using the flower trio stamp and Basic Gray ink I stamped it once in the middle of the cardstock. Then using a mask I made with the same image I cover the center image I just stamped and then added more flowers around the first.  If needed use a second mask to fill in the area as you wish.

  Next the flower are colored in with Blends markers in the same colors as used on the rest of the card.

  The basket is die cut from a piece of the Easter Joy Specialty DSP in a nice basket weave pattern.  The colored strips are woven through the basket staves, a scalloped edge piece and grass are added as well.  Finally the finished basket is popped on dimensionals over the the stamped flowers.

  The finishing touch to this all occasion spring card is a Fresh Freesia fork bow (tutorial here).

Easter Daffodils - Stampin' Up!® Easter Basket

 I'm continuing to share some of my last Easter cards that I made to send out to family this season. I used the colors from the Easter Joy DSP to put this one together.

  This floral pattern of the DSP was fun and bright so I decided to continue the theme with the focal point of the card.  I used a retired scalloped oval die to cut a piece of Basic White then embossed it with the Beautiful Pattern embossing folder.  

  Using the Easter Basket dies I cut several layers of grass in Shy Shamrock and layered them at the bottom of the oval to create a little space for the daffodils to pop out from.

  The flowers are die cut from Shy Shamrock, and either Pretty in Pink or Peach Pie.  I cut the cup parts of the flowers again from retired 2024-2026 In Color Glimmer paper and then popped the heads up on mini dimensionals.

  The sentiment is stamped in Versamark onto Balmy Blue cardstock and then embossed in white.  A little Balmy Blue gingham ribbon bow is added to the top of the oval as well as a few retired resin dots.

Easter Bunnies - Stampin' Up!® Easter Basket

 Happy April Fools Day!  No tricks here, just stamping!  Even thought I haven't been posting much I have been stamping a little bit and I figure I better get my Easter cards shared because we only have a few more days before the Easter bunny visits!

  I'm using the colors from the current As You See It challenge where they have given us Pool Party, Soft Sea Foam and Pretty in Pink to work with.  

  I went all in on the pink using a Pretty in Pink card base then a large panel of the Pleasant Patterns Specialty DSP in a Pretty in Pink metallic pattern for the background.

  A few Nature's Symphony die cut leaves in Soft Sea Foam and Pool Party break up some of the pink and give a nice spot for the sentiment stamped in Basic Gray.  A bit of retired Pool Party ribbon is looped behind it for interest.

  The bunnies and eggs are stamped in Pool Party then colored with Stampin' Blends.  Once they are die cut they are popped on dimensionals.  A few pink sequins are added for more sparkle.

  This was a fun spring color combo to work with for this Easter card.

Spring Tulips - Stampin' Up!® Sunshine & Tulips

   The Color Dare Challenge has a pretty set of colors that seemed perfect to pair with the Sunshine & Tulips bundle.  My tulips aren't blooming yet but I have a ton of daffodils popped out right now and I know the tulips are next to show.  

  The only stamping on this card is the sentiment banner so it's a die heavy design.  I love the large card front size die that makes the lovely rows of tulips and it's fun to mix and match the flower colors.  This time I cut the die in Garden Green and mounted it on a Garden Green card base.  I bent the leaves up a bit for dimension as well.  

  The flower heads are cut using the large die and I just cut narrow strips of Beautiful Bokeh DSP in Caylpso Coral and Daffodil Delight patterns for a very subtle pattern/variation in color.  The flower heads are popped on dimensionals.

  The sentiment is stamped in Calypso Coral and then die cut with the Stylish Shapes dies.  It's also popped with dimensionals.  I added a baker's twine bow and some retired green faceted gems for a tone on tone bit of sparkle.

Spring Easter Basket - Stampin' Up!® Easter Basket

 After a few warm days here in central Virginia some of my spring bulbs are flowering and the rest are on their way!  It's definitely time to think about spring cards and get ready for all that pastel goodness!  My stampers made this card last week at class and they got a good taste of spring with the Easter Basket bundle!

  This design starts with a Balmy Blue card base, then a piece of Easter Joy Specialty DSP.  This paper is very sturdy with fun metallic accents in cheerful spring colors.  

  The basket is cut out of Crumb Cake and a bit of Shy Shamrock grass is added to the inside.  Next comes filling the basket with all the adorable images in the Easter Basket stamp set.  All of the images are stamped in Basic Gray and then colored in with Blends.  It was fun to mix and match colors so each egg looks a bit different.  After the images are die cut they are added to the basket with the little chick being popped on dimensionals.

  The bunny and a second chick are stamped, colored, die cut and then added to outside the basket which fills in the layout. 

  The sentiment is stamped in Balmy Blue and adhered and a Balmy Blue gingham bow is the final touch.

Chocolate Bunny Basket - Stampin' Up!® Easter Basket Bundle

   We are still pretty much iced in here in the Richmond area so there's been some extra time in the stamp room and today I'm playing along with the Addicted to CAS challenge where they have "food" as the prompt!  A bit harder for me than I first thought it would be until I looked closer at the new Easter Basket bundle!  A chocolate bunny certainly counts as food doesn't it? 

  While the basket might take up more space than I'd normally use for a clean and simple card I left off any extra layers and kept the rest of the design very simple so I think overall it's a CAS card.

  The basket is cut from Crumb Cake and the grass from Granny Apply Green.  The bunnies are stamped in Versamark onto Early Espresso and then embossed with clear embossing powder for a nice shiny look.  As close to chocolate as I could get!

  I tucked the bunnies into the basket after they were die cut.  The basket is embellished with a bakers twine bow and 2 small Pressed Flower Motifs.

  Finally the sentiment is stamped below the basket in Early Espresso ink.

Spring Has Sprung - Stampin' Up!® Easter Basket

   My title might be a bit misleading as spring has not sprung in my area even if I can see the tips of some spring flower bulbs peeking out! Spring has only arrived on my card for today!  The new Easter Basket bundle is really adorable and has a lot of fun images that are great for coloring.  I didn't even use the basket die today but I see a lot of possibilities with this suite!

  I'm using a new to me challenge for this card. Color Dare Challenge has some great combos and the current challenge has the perfect colors to pair with the Easter Basket bundle! I ended up using all 5 from the prompt!

  The different sized images were perfect to do a collage style card using the Perennial Postage dies for the background panels for each grouping.  The Balmy Blue card base sets all of the colors off nicely.

  Each image is stamped in Basic Gray and then colored with Stampin' Blends.  They are the perfect colors for each of the images!  After the images were colored and die cut I popped each one up on it's panel and then added a few embellishments.

  The bunnies got baker's twine bows, the sentiment square got some grass and then center flowers each got an iridescent sequin.

Rainbow Bunnies - Stampin' Up! Choose Happy

   I was intending to post this card over the weekend and wish everyone a happy Easter but a head cold took me out starting Saturday afternoon.  I had an event at church on Saturday morning then Alex had a soccer game in the early afternoon and once I got home I was whipped and Sunday wasn't much better.  Instead of going to church and sharing my germs we watched the livestream which isn't the same but was definitely the responsible choice with the state that my sinuses were in!  I rallied to make Easter dinner with help from the guys and then spent the rest of the day sitting with the tissue box close by.  All that to say I hope you had a happy Easter if you celebrate and a beautiful weekend if you don't!  I was inspired to make this card by the Just Us Girls challenge and their beautiful mood board.  Such gorgeous colors!

  The colors from the mood board match the colors from the retired Sunshine & Rainbows DSP back from Sale-a-Bration 2022!  Good thing I'm a paper hoarder lol!  I started with a Basic White thick card base, then cut a Basic White panel with the Textured Notes dies (fast becoming a favorite die set!).  Next I added a strip of the DSP.

  I'm so glad the Choose Happy stamp set is carrying over!  It's such a cute set and it and the sweet little images come in handy when you just need that little "something" for a card!  I stamped the bunny image 5 times in Basic Gray ink on Basic White cardstock.  Pulling colors from the DSP I used my Blends markers to give the bunnies a bit of color and then fussy cut them.  I popped them on dimensionals just on the edge of the DSP.

  The sentiment is from the Storybook Friends stamp set.  I thought it went perfectly with the sweet bunnies and fun color combo.  It's stamped in Basic Gray.  And a few adhesive-backed sequins finish off this simple card.  I might have to reprise this one next for some of my Easter cards!

Welcome Baby Bunny - Stampin' Up! Storybook Friends

   The sweet little animals in the Storybook Friends stamp set are too cute to resist!  We used the bunny in my last class to make this card.  Some chose to use the welcome baby sentiment other chose a simple hello or happy spring but they were all cute!

  The card base is Cajun Craze then we paired up patterns from the Timeless Plaid DSP and the Storybook Moments DSP.

  An Early Espresso frame is cut with the Storybook Friends dies then the sentiment is stamped on a panel of Very Vanilla in Memento black ink.  The frame is popped on dimensionals.

  The bunny is stamped on Very Vanilla and then colored in with Stampin' Blends.  Once it was die cut it is popped on dimensionals over a Very Vanilla baker's twine bow.

  Two Faux Glass Dots are added above the sentiment.  The great thing about this pack of embellishments is all 4 colors complement the colors in these DSPs.

Bunny Friends - Stampin' Up! Storybook Friends

 I've got a busy weekend ahead of me with a giant pile of mulch that needs spreading as well as getting prepped for a stamping class on Tuesday. Luckily before the work starts I was able to play a bit with the Storybook Friends bundle to make this sweet bunny card.  The images in this set are just adorable and then pairing it with some of the Timeless Plaid DSP brings up the vintage charm even more.  I used the layout from the Stampin' Up! Only challenge.

  I pulled most of my colors straight from the DSP so I used Basic Beige for the base. The beautiful frame is cut from Early Espresso (another color in the DSP).  To make the sentiment insert I just cut the center of the frame die to get a Very Vanilla rectangle the same size as the opening.  Then I stamped the stone wall stamp in Basic Beige and the sentiment over the top if the wall in Early Espresso.  The two pieces are held together on the back side with several dimensionals.

  The bunnies are all stamped in Memento Black and then colored in with Blends markers.  I used Boho Blue and Wild Wheat for the pants and coat which are colors used on other patterns in the Timeless Plaid DSP pack so I knew they would coordinate with the paper I chose. 

  After the bunnies were die cut I arranged them around the frame to follow the sketch.  I added a blue baker's twine bow behind the bunny on the right and then some Antique Pearls.

Easter Tree - Stampin' Up! Pick a Season

   I feel like it has been weeks since I posted a card but it's just been since Thursday when I headed out of town to go to the Stampin' Up! On Stage demonstrator event in Raleigh, NC.  It was a really fun time and it deserves it own post after I go through some photos and get back in the swing of things.  I did stamp a bit this afternoon and I was able to get this super bright Easter card made using colors that are the current customer stamping challenge.  I think the lighting when I took the photo makes it look even more bright.

  I still had the Sale-a-Bration stamp set Pick A Season on my desk and I thought the bright colors worked with the images.  I started with Lemon Lime Twist, then a layer of Basic White embossed with the Dotted Circles embossing folder.

  Next I added a panel of Celebrations Expressions Memories and More card pack which is coming out in the next annual catalog and we received at OnStage to use for make and take projects.  The color listed is Berry Burst but I think this pattern went perfectly with Petunia Pop.  These cards are a great way to add patterns and color to your cards; almost like DSP but already cut to smaller sizes.  

  The sentiment is from the Storybook Friends stamp set and is embossed on a strip of Petunia Pop with the end flagged. I stamped the tree and added the Easter eggs in Pumpkin Pie and colored in some bits of them with the Petunia Pop marker.  I fussy cut the tree and popped it on dimensionals.

Finally I added a baker's twine bow and some sequins to finish off the details.

Bunny Hello - Stampin' Up! Storybook Friends

 I've got a sweet spring card to share today.  Swap out the sentiment and it easily becomes an Easter card!  I made a whole stack of this design for my customer thank you cards for orders placed in February. I love the soft colors and sweet details.

  The card front is a piece of Very Vanilla embossed with the Eyelet embossing folder.  The frame is die cut with the Storybook Friends die set in Soft Sea Foam and a length of Petal Pink Scalloped Ribbon is threaded through the slits on the frame and adhered under the embossed card front.  The sentiment is stamped and added behind the frame before everything is adhered.

  The bunnies are stamped in Memento Black on Very Vanilla and colored with Stampin' Blends markers then die cut.

  I used the small flower dies in the Country Birdhouse die set to add some floral accents to the frame and I thought it was cute to make the one bunny hold a flower.  Some of the flower centers are accented with Antique Pearls

Storybook Strawberries - Stampin' Up! Storybook Garden Patch

   With another winter storm coming toward us here in central Virginia I've got a sweet card looking ahead to warmer weather!  The Just Add Ink sketch is a perfect one to use to highlight smaller images so I pulled out the Storybook Garden Patch stamp set and showed off some strawberries!

  I started with a pretty background with this design from the Storybook Moments DSP.  Then I used the Perennial Postage dies to cut 3 squares of watercolor paper.

  I stamped the strawberries in Stazon then watercolored with Real Red and Mossy Meadow.  After they were adhered to the card front I cut a sentiment banner with the Unbounded Love dies.  The sentiment is stamped in Lost Lagoon and is from the Storybook Friends stamp set.

  The sentiment is popped on dimensionals with a loop of Lost Lagoon Soft Cording behind it.  They are hard to see but I added a few clear faceted gems around the card front for a tiny bit of sparkle.

Easter Birds - Stampin' Up! Heartfelt Hexagons

   I am trying to be much better about using up some of the Designer Series Paper that I accumulate and I'm making good progress on the Flight & Airy pack that was Sale-a-Bration reward.  The whole pack is just so pretty and absolutely perfect for spring cards.  I decided to use up a bit more of it and make some Easter cards.

  I played around a little bit and came up with a basic design and then did all the fussy cutting while watching/listening to March Madness basketball last weekend.  I started with a Basic White thick card base then used one of the Flight & Airy patterns in the blue watercolor wash and edged it with a piece of Garden Green that was just slightly larger.

  The frame stamp is in the Heartfelt Hexagon stamp set in the Jan.-Apr. 2024 mini catalog.  Unfortunately this bundle has been backordered for quite some time but fingers crossed it will be available soon.  But good news that it is carrying over so you'll have a lot of time to order it even when the mini catalog sales period is over.  I stamped the frame in Boho Blue then the sentiment from the Heartfelt Hellos Sale-a-Bration (SAB) set in Fresh Freesia and then punched it out with the Heartfelt Hexagon punch.  A quick swap of another sentiment and this could be a thoughtful sympathy card or spring Happy Birthday card.

  Using all my fussy cut birds and extra flowers I arranged them on the card fronts with the flowers tucked behind the label and the birds popped up with dimensionals over the opposite edge.  Look how cute they are!!  I think I ended up with 12 or 13 different designs once I had everything put together.

  Each card was different but I used the same embellishments.  I used some retired white seam binding to make fork bow (Tutorial Here) and then sprinkled some retired pink sequins around.  See tryin to use up what I already have!  Just use what you have on hand if you don't have these exact items in your stash.

Springtime Fun - Stampin' Up! Playng in the Rain

   I was inspired to design this card for a recent class by a customer who sent me a lovely watercolored card that she had made.  I hadn't done a watercoloring card in class for a really long time so it was long overdue.

  The Playing in the Rain stamp set was perfect for a little bit of watercoloring and scene building with the fantastic coordinating Playing in the Rain dies.

  This one starts with a nice bright card base in Tahitian Tide.  Then using a piece of Fluid 100 watercolor paper (which is nice and thick and takes ink beautifully) we watercolored the background sky and grass.  Water painters (on page 129 in the Annual Catalog) are perfect for all the coloring on this card.  We used the wide brushes for the sky and grass and the finer tip ones for the small spaces on the bunny.  All the ink colors used are listed below.

  Once the background was dry the rest of the scene was added.  The bunny is stamped in Stazon onto Shimmery White paper and then watercolored.  The bunny was stamped a second time onto a small piece of Rain or Shine DSP and then the raincoat is fussy cut then paper pieced onto the bunny for a fun patterned design.

  The kite, grass sprouts and clouds are die cut and added to the scene.  For ease of use for my customers we used adhesive sheets for the kite pieces to make adhering all those small bits super easy.  One cloud and one of the grass sprouts are popped on dimensionals.  

  The sentiment is from the Sale-a-Bration set Thanks a Bunch and is stamped in Tahitian Tide and popped on dimensionals at the bottom of the card.  A few Pastel Adhesive Backed sequins around the clouds adds a bit of sparkle for the finishing touch.

   Sometimes when I'm working on a card design I see something in a stamp or die that looks like it could be used for something else.  I was creating this card and while I was fussy cutting the leaves I totally had an "a-ha" moment where I saw bunny ears!  Of course I tucked that little bit of inspiration away and a few days later I sat down to see if I could come up with a design using this stamp as bunny ears.

  I paired the stamp with 2 patterns from the Sale-a-Bration Day at the Farm DSP to create a trio of little bunny ears peaking over the top of a hill.

  The card base is Balmy Blue then a layer of Basic White.  The sky/cloud pattern from Day at the Farm DSP is on the top half of the Basic White panel.  I fussy cut the hill pattern and added it to the bottom half.

  The bunny ears are stamped in Crumb Cake and then the inside is colored with the light Flirty Flamingo Blends marker.  I fussy cut all three pairs of ears then tucked them just behind the hillside.

  To fill in the sky I added a few die cut clouds from the Playing in the Rain dies.  They are popped on dimensionals for added interest (and because I can't say no to dimensionals lol!!).  I cut a few grass/flower stems using the same die set and added them to the hillside.  They are topped with the fun Loose Daisy embellishments.

  The sentiment is an old retired set called And Many More.  The size and bunny reference fit perfectly with the design.

Bright Boots - Stampin' Up! Flowering Rain Boots

   Not a lot of time to stick around and gab about stamping today as I'm running in and out of the house all day long!  I have a moment to share a card we did at my class yesterday.  I hadn't used the Flowering Rain Boots bundle in a class yet and now that it is officially spring I thought it was time for another tulip card.

  This card uses 3 of the 5 retiring In Colors so if you haven't gotten them yet time is running out.  Magenta Madness, Just Jade and Bumblebee are sticking around for just a few more weeks.  Don't they go well together on this card?

  The base is Just Jade and the checked background is made with a Just Jade Stampin' Blends marker and makes a nice subtle, casual background.  Just be sure to not let your marker tip just rest on the paper; keep it moving in even strokes or it will bleed through the other side.

  The background for the boots and flowers has Gray Granite and Pool Party ink lightly blended on with Blending brushes to give a base for the images.  Otherwise they look as if they are floating up in the air.  

  Once the images are stamped they are adhered with dimensionals and the embossed sentiment is added to the side.  A Magenta Madness ribbon knot accents the boots for the final touch.

Birthday Tulips - Stampin' Up! Tulips Dies

   Even though our weather looks nice today with sun shining down and pretty blue skies it's actually windy and kind of chilly but a few brave tulips have decided to start to bloom in my yard and they are even a similar color to the tulips on my card! After a lot of yellow from my daffodils we are getting into the pink and red of tulip season!

  This card just has stamping for the sentiment and gives the focus to the beautiful flowers you can make with the Tulip dies.  I used Calypso Coral for the blooms and Pear Pizzazz for the stems and leaves.  I love how each one is slightly different.

  I used 2 different patterns from the Flowering Fields DSP to create the background and base for the birthday sentiment.

  A few Brushed Brass Butterflies and a Frayed Ribbon knot are the embellishments for this card.

Hand-Penned Lace - Stampin' Up! Penned Flowers Dies

   I have to get a move on making some Easter cards before it's too late. The soft colors at Just Us Girls Challenge were perfect for a soft floral Easter card.

  

Please forgive the poor photo; the weather here has been gray for a few days and the natural light just hasn't been great for photos!

  This is very easy card design though a bit fussy for the background.  I just cut out a bunch of the floral outlines in Very Vanilla and glued them to a piece of Very Vanilla.  I think the look has a wonderful lace feel to it.

  I cut a Soft Succulent scallop edge and then adhered a bit of Blushing Bride Frayed Grosgrain ribbon to it and layered across the card front.

  The sentiment from an old retired set called Well Scripted is stamped in Soft Succulent and cut out with a Tasteful Label die.  I cut a few flowers and leaves and adhered them to the side. The the whole label is then popped on dimensionals.

  I added a few Polished Dots to finish off the details.  

  I love the end result but this is definitely not a design to make multiples of!

Royal Tulip Fields - Stampin' Up! Tulip Fields

   It's time for some bright spring-like colors on this gray day!  The Tulip Fields bundle is just the thing to use to create a fun spring scene of flowering fields!

 I started this card with a Highland Heather card base and then stamped the rest of the scene on a piece of Basic White.  The stamps in the Tulip Fields set make it easy to stamp the rows of flowers just cleaning the stamp before using a new color of ink. 

 To add color to the sky I masked off the flower part of the card and lightly blended some Pool Party ink. A few clouds are cut and added to the sky.  Along the horizon I added a few trees and the windmill.  The windmill is stamped in Early Espresso with a bit of shading with Crumb Cake ink and a blender pen. 

  For the sentiment (from the Flowering Tulips stamp set) I embossed it in white and cut it with one of the Tailor Made Tags dies.  I used crinkled seam binding ribbon and a bit of twine to tie it off.  And last but not least a few Brushed Brass butterflies to accent around the sentiment.
