After spending so much time lately with fall and Christmas stamps and papers I needed a bit of a break so when I saw the Color Hues challenge to use Mustard and Olive for a card I looked through my sets and thought that the older set Playing in the Rain would be a nice change of pace. It still ends up having a little bit of a fall feel but it was nice to use some older supplies.
There really isn't anything new technique wise on this card. It was just a fun one to focus on the two challenge colors and create a little scene. The base is Old Olive with the next layer being a piece of retired Design A Daydream DSP in a light olive crosshatch pattern. I liked the lighter version of Old Olive here so that the other elements would pop a bit more against it instead of everything being darker.
The fox is stamped in Memento Black and then colored with Blends. The flower stems are die cut from Old Olive cardstock then topped with some retired Adhesive-Backed Hearts and Flowers enamel shapes.
I used the Simply Said stamp set and a Stylish Shape die cut circle for the sentiment. A bit of long retired Crushed Curry Mini Chevron ribbon is looped behind the sentiment to add more of that color to the top of the card and also completes the visual triangle of elements.
Thanks for looking! Did you stamp today?
