Starred Happy Birthday - Stampin' Up! Sweet Ice Cream - Paper Players 523

Happy Sunday stampers!  The Paper Players have a new challenge to start the week off right!  Ann has given us a fun set of colors to play with this week.  Blackberry Bliss, Bumblebee and Misty Moonlight and a neutral!

After flipping my perpetual birthday calendar to January and noting how many cards I needed in the coming weeks and then seeing that my birthday card stash was down to 0 cards I figured I better get to 'work'.  After trying a few different ideas I decided to do a fun striped background for a masculine birthday. And as a bonus it uses up some scraps!

The card base is Whisper White thick, then I used another layer of Whisper White to line up the stripes.  After getting them all adhered the Tasteful Textile embossing folder gives the panel some interest.

For the neutral I used Whisper White to cut some Stitched Stars and layered them on the background with the 2 smaller ones popped with dimensionals.

The sentiment banner is stamped in Versamark with the large sentiment from the new Sweet Ice Cream stamp set and then embossed in white.  It's popped with more dimensionals and has a Bumblebee In Color ribbon knot anchoring one end.  A few In Color enamel dots on the small stars finish off the details.

I can't wait to see what you all create and share with us in the Paper Players gallery!  For inspiration from the rest of the Design Team check out these links:

  4. As I am strolling through the cards from the DT I keep coming across brilliant ways that others have showcased these colors, and here I am again thinking...why didn't I think of that? This is wonderful Amanda and those white stars really pop! I am going to have to file away this idea the next time I am stumped! Have a great day!
