For today I've got a card I made a few weeks back for a sweet girl at our church who was really bummed not to be able celebrate her 11th birthday with her friends. She's big into basketball so I went with that theme for my card.
I started with a piece of Cajun Craze that I embossed with the Hammered Metal embossing folder which reminded me of the texture of a basketball. Then I dug into my retired Wood Textures DSP and found a piece that looks like a gym floor; at least to me it does! Then I added the center court line and circle (not sure if those are the real names or what-- I never played basketball!) using Whisper White cardstock and circle dies.
I wanted to highlight the 11 for her birthday so I cut several ones in Basic Black using the really old Bigz number dies. I glued 3 layers together for each one so they would be a bit sturdier. Then I pressed each one into Versamark and embossed it with black shimmer embossing powder. It was a good alternative to Black Shimmer paper which I thought I had some of but actually didn't!
I popped the numbers on dimensionals and then added some Cajun Craze embossed basketballs bouncing around the court.
Thanks for looking! Did you stamp today?
