Lovely Botanical Hello - Stampin' Up! Lovely & Sweet

The Color Hues challenge has a color duo that works really well for autumn cards and while my image isn't necessarily autumn the colors definitely give the card that feel.  Green and rust could also be the start of a great masculine card if you need some help starting one of those!

I pulled out a carry over stamp set that was in the spring mini catalog, Lovely & Sweet, to use with these colors.  If you loved this one back in the spring but didn't get it then you can find it on page 78 of the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.  You can't go wrong with having a good botanical stamp set in your collection.

To translate Rust & Green into Stampin' Up! colors I used Cajun Craze and Garden Green for my colors.  This card starts with the Forever Plaid embossing folder and a piece of Very Vanilla as the background.  Next I cut a frame using 2 sizes of the Deckled Rectangle dies and added that to the card front.

I stamped the large botanical image in Pecan Pie and then colored it in with watercolor pencils and then die cut it.  I used another one of the Lovely & Sweet dies to cut 2 tickets; one in Very Vanilla stamped with the sentiment in Garden Green ink and a second out of a piece of retired DSP that I had out on my desk from another project.

I layered the tickets with the DSP on offset just a bit and then adhered it with dimensionals over a loop of Garden Green baker's twine.  And I still have these danged candy dots from like 10 years ago that I've been trying to use up where I can so I added a few of those as well.

Thanks for looking! Did you stamp today?

  2. Beautiful card, Amanda! You're right, one can never fo wrong with a good botanical stamp or die and yours looks nice trailing across the frame opening to the sentiment. Thanks so much for playing along at Color Hues!

  3. This card totally caught my attention in the gallery. I love your stamped image that you have colored so well, but my favorite part might be the double tags. Thanks for making our colors shine at Color Hues.
