Zany Gator - Stampin' Up! Zany Zoo

I am loving having all these new Stampin' Up! colors to play with aren't you?  I've enjoyed sharing them with my local stampers too.  They made this project using new/returning colors at my new catalog open house a few weeks ago.  I think the gator is just the cutest to show off the return of Lemon Lime Twist!

The critters in the Zany Zoo stamp set are so cute aren't they?  If you buy the bundle you get so many little extras in the die set to create adorable little scenes.  We just used the alligator outline die and the flowers on this card but you can create a stage/curtain for performances, there's a balloon, trees, a cloud and more.

The coordinating Zoo Crew DSP gives you even more animals and black & white patterns to create with.  2 narrow strips create a nice base for our bicycle riding gator.

Everything to make this card can be found in my ONLINE STORE

Garden Circles - Stampin' Up! Gorgeous Garden Dies

I've been busy creating projects for my next class but I did have time yesterday to do up an idea that I had after seeing the Freshly Made Sketches layout.  Circles are always a fun element to incorporate on a card (I probably use them on 80% of my cards!) and it came out just as I had envisioned which doesn't always happen!

I've been keeping my eyes peeled for color combinations that use Wild Wheat as I think it might be a hard In Color for me to use with any regularity.  This one caught my attention: Wild Wheat, Crushed Curry, Moody Mauve and Pebbled Path.  It has a bit of a retro feel to it right?

My idea was to use one of the new Gorgeous Garden dies to cut a full card front panel in Basic White and then again in each of my colors to then cut circles out of those to add to the white panel.  I used the Stylish Shapes dies and cut 3 different circles from the 3 colors then carefully used glue to add them onto the same part of the Basic White panel.

Next I added dimensionals to the back of the die cut, trimming them down to fit the spaces where necessary, then added it to the Pebbled Path base.

The sentiment is from the new set, Timeless Arrangements.  This set has a really great assortment of mix and match sentiments which I always love because it's so versatile and you just never know what you'll need!  I used Pebbled Path ink and then added a tiny bit of Moody Mauve Textured ribbon along the bottom edge.

All the supplies to make this card can be purchased in my ONLINE STORE.

Birthday Balloons - Stampin' Up! Beautiful Balloons

Today I'm sharing the second project my stampers made at my New Catalog Open House.  The Beautiful Balloon bundle is perfect for all sorts of celebratory cards!  I used it to design this birthday card that also shows off 3 of the brand new colors: Azure Afternoon, Lemon Lolly and Bubble Bath.

The card base is Azure Afternoon and then the balloons were stamped in the 3 colors and 3 sizes on  a piece of Basic White.  The edge of that panel has a fringe made from a piece of Bright & Beautiful DSP.

A large Lemon Lolly balloon is stamped and cut out with the sentiment added in Azure Afternoon.  It's popped on dimensionals and the string is stamped.

Since I hadn't gotten any embellishments in the new colors yet I did the next best thing which is to use my Azure Afternoon blends markers to color a few rhinestones to match!

You can find all the supplies to re-create this card yourself in my ONLINE STORE.

In Color Hug - Stampin' Up! Crafting With You

I recently hosted my annual New Catalog Open House where I got to show off so many fun new products from the 2023-2024 Stampin' up! annual catalog.  My stampers got to make projects using new stamp sets and colors to get hands on time to see what might suit their crafting needs.  Everyone agreed that the little scissors in the Crafting With You die set are just adorable.  If you've got crafty people in your life who you make cards for this is the bundle for you!

I also used this card to show off the 5 brand new In Colors.  These colors are around for 2 years but don't wait to get them!  They are great addition to the colors we already have and will make for some fresh new combos.  We used Boho Blue as the base, then a layer of Pebbled Path (what a nice neutral right??!) then a piece of Basic White where 1/2 inch strips of In Color DSP are adhered on a diagonal.

The sentiment is stamped in Pebbled Path and then cut with a Stylish Shapes circle die and popped on dimensionals.  And finally, the scissors!  To make the scissors simply die cut pieces in both Pebble Path and Boho Blue, trim the handles of the Boho Blue pieces, glue them to the handles of the Pebbled Path pieces and then adhered the 2 parts together.  Finish off the look with a small In Color Gem.  I used a Boho Blue one but the Pebbled Path gem works great too!

This is such an easy card to make and it shows all the New In Colors I wanted my stampers to use in person.  Who in your life would love to receive this card??

All of the items used for this card can be purchased in my ONLINE STORE.  And there are just a few days left to place an order of $40 or more (before tax/shipping) to get a FREE gift from me!  I am giving away FREE cardstock swatch sampler rings that have all 53 of Stampin' Up!'s colors for qualifying orders!

Park Squares Hello - Stampin' Up! Biggest Wish

My card today was inspired by a fellow demo in the UK Julie Sutcliffe (@thepaperhaven in IG). She used little one inch squares of DSP to create her card front and I thought it was so cute I decided to CASE her card as my customer thank you card for the month of April.  I used the now retired Regency Park DSP but any DSP would work!

My card starts with a Night of Navy base, then I added my little squares to a piece of Basic White cardstock spacing them so that I would have a gap between the third and fourth rows.  Once I had my squares all adhered I stamped the 'hello' from the Biggest Wish stamp set (so glad this one carried over to the new Annual Catalog!).

Next I embossed the whole panel with the Cane Weave embossing folder for some awesome texture.  I added a strip of Night of Navy Bordered Ribbon and a milky dot before adhering the panel to the card front.  I used Tear & Tape to adhere it to make sure it stayed put!

  Thanks for the inspiration Julie!

Sew, Just A Note - Stampin' Up! Crating With You

I'm anxiously awaiting my first full catalog order which is due to arrive tomorrow!  I'm counting on you Mr. Brown!!  I probably won't know what to use first and will just end up sitting in my stamp room without a single creative idea but at least I will have new stuff to look at!

I'm still playing around with the new In Colors and seeing how well they work with each other and with other combos.  I used Boho Blue and Moody Mauve for the main colors in this design.

Pebbled Path makes for a nice neutral doesn't it? I think it's like a darker version of Gray Granite. The card base is Boho Blue then a layer of Pebbled Path then a piece of 2023-2025 In Color DSP in Boho Blue stripes.

I made a row of alternating colored spools and adhered them to a piece of Basic White then adhered that over a narrow piece of Pebbled Path.

The sewing machine is stamped in Moody Mauve and die cut then is popped on dimensionals onto a Basic White and Boho Blue square panel.

The sentiment is from Go To Greetings and is just tucked to the side of the sewing machine.  I added a few In Color Dots in Moody Mauve for a bit of shine.

Pastel Petals - Stampin' Up! Petal Park

I'm still working my way through the Mother's day cards I made for this year and today's card share combines a few carryover items and one new color.

I used a Bubble Bath base for the start of this card.  I stamped the little cluster of open flowers in the same color of ink along the one edge.  Next I added a Crumb Cake panel that has been embossed with the Cane Weave embossing folder, the edge trimmed with a retired scallop edge die and then sponged with white craft ink to define the embossed pattern even more.  Before adhering it I wrapped a length of Pool Party ribbon around the panel.

Next the flower trio from Petal Park was stamped a few times in Pool Party and Bubble Bath and then lightly colored with the matching Blends markers.  After punching them out I scattered them around the card front and around the fancy label cut with the Sentimental Park dies.

The label sentiment is from the long retired Well Scripted stamp set. And finally some adhesive pearls round out this soft floral Mother's Day card.

Greatest Mother's Day - Stampin' Up! Greatest Journey

Here's another Mother's Day card I made with a now retired set, Greatest Journey.  I loved the flower image and it was a good one to use for the recipient who loves purple!

The card starts with a Highland Heather base then I embossed a piece of Basic White with the Fern embossing folder.  I tore a little bit from the top and bottom of the panel then edged it with Textured Shimmer paper (carried over to the new annual catalog).   A narrow strip of retired Butterfly Kisses DSP in Fresh Freesia is adheres across the bottom.

The image is stamped in Basic Gray and then colored in with Blends markers and then die cut.  I cut a piece of foliage out of vellum with the retired Forever Flourishing dies and tucked it behind the image before adhering it all to the card front.

A small tag stamped with the sentiment is added to the side and some retired gems in Fresh Freesia give the card a little bit of sparkle.

Current products can be found in my ONLINE STORE.

Country Blooms - Stamp' Up! Country Bouquet

I was finishing up my Mother's Day cards as the 2022-2023 Annual catalog and Jan.-April mini catalog were winding up so I had soon to be retired and carry over items all over the place so they are a bit of a hodgepodge of supplies.  I'm glad that Country Bouquet carried over as it was unavailable for part of the mini sales period and I wanted to use it for more than just Valentine's day cards.

I made a few sweet blossoms in pretty spring colors for this Mother's day card.

The card base is Basic White thick, then a piece of retired Pale Papaya.  I hope Pale Papaya comes back someday as it's a lovely soft orange which I really think fits well with the Subtles collection.  Next I embossed a piece of Basic White with the Cane Weave embossing folder.

I cut a few Stitched Rectangles (now retired but the Deckled Edge dies would be a good current product to use.)  I used Lemon Lolly, Bubble Bath and Pale Papaya and stamped the sentiment in PP ink.  The sentiment set is the long retired Itty Bitty Greetings and was the only Mother's Day greeting I had that fit the space.

For the flowers I punched out 3 sets of Basic White hearts with Country Bouquet punch and then sponged the edges with the ink colors.  I stamped in Garden Green ink and punched 3 sets of leaves and then layered them all to make the flowers. Each one is popped on dimensionals and has a Garden Green baker's twine bow at the base.

The final touch are some retired Milky Dots sprinkles across the card front.

In Color Umbrellas - Stampin' Up! Playing in the Rain

I'm taking some time to get to know the new In Colors; Moody Mauve, Boho Blue, Wild Wheat, Copper Clay and Pebbled Path.  As they do every year, the new In Colors will grow on me and I'll discover great color combos using them.  For now it's baby steps and trying out designs using all of them at one time but in small doses.

I used the carry over set Playing in the Rain to make this easy background with the small umbrella stamp.

The umbrellas are stamped in Pebbled Path ink then colored in using Blends markers in the 4 other In Colors.  I added a slightly smaller strip of 2023-2025 In Color DSP in Boho Blue and I've got my card base.

The big hello from Biggest Wish is stamped on a die cut tag and popped with dimensionals on the card front.  I accented the tag with a fussy cut umbrella as well as a piece of Boho Blue Textured Ribbon that I cut in half width-wise for a skinnier pice to thread through the hole.

Finally, in an attempt to play nice with Wild Wheat I added a few 2023-2025 In Color Dots as an embellishment.

All of the current products used to make this card can be purchased through my ONLINE STORE.

Bubble Balloons - Stampin' Up! Beautiful Balloons

Well I finally placed an order for more products from the new annual catalog so soon you'll get content from more than just 3 stamp sets!  And by soon I mean between 6 and 29 days which seems like what shipping is taking lately lol!  Please don't write me off just yet!  For now though I've got a cute pastel-y balloon card to show you.

I used Bubble Bath and Lemon Lolly to stamp overlapping balloons for the background.  For the focal part of the card I cut the fun tag and then stamped 'happy birthday'.  Around it I added stamped and die cut balloons and stars and scattered them around the tag using dimensionals.

A baker's twine bow decorates one balloon and some crinkled seam binding ribbon is added to the tag.  A few Iridescent Rhinestone are added for a bit of bling.

Crafting Scissors - Stampin' Up! Crafting With You

Better late than never with my post today!  I've been furiously preparing for my new catalog open house and BOGO retirement sale and I just needed to take a break and sit down for a few minutes.  Between all the supplies I'm using in the make & takes to show off the new catalog and all of the retired products I'm trying to find new homes for my stamp room feels really empty.  If it wasn't so small it might even be echo-y!

I made this card a few days ago to play along with the Global Design Project since their colors were so pretty. Flirty Flamingo, Coastal Cabana and Smoky Slate.  This is definitely a combo I will use again.

This is a clean and simple (CAS) card if I've ever made one!  I used the Crafting with You bundle to make this sweet card.  I have so many friends I could send this to I just might have to make multiples.  The scissors are die cut from all the challenge colors.  I cut off just the handles of the Flirty Flamingo and 2 Coastal Cabana sets and just glued them onto the Smoky Slate pairs.  I used a retired Milky Dot for the rivet but any small gem or adhesive dot would work. So cute right??

I used my markers to color the sentiment in all 3 colors and it's bit light so next time I do it this way I'll use my stamparatus to stamp it so I can go over it again to make it darker.

The sentiment is cut out with a big circle die and then backed with a scalloped circle in Coastal Cabana.  Everything is popped on dimensionals.

If you'd like to re-create this card all of the current supplies can be purchased in my ONLINE STORE.

Big Balloon Birthday - Stampin' Up! Silly Goose

I'm so excited to be joining the fabulous team at Color Throwdown today as a featured guest stamper.  My card from a previous challenge was highlighted so I get to join in this week's challenge!  It's such a thrill to join this talented group this week.

Check out the fun colors we get to create with this time!

Orange, Aqua, Lilac and Black which I translated into Stampin' Up! colors Pumpkin Pie, Tahitian Tide, Fresh Freesia and Basic Black.  I had to sit and ponder these for a bit but I'm pleased with what I came up with and the whole point of a challenge is to stretch ourselves a bit right?

I combined the carryover stamp set Silly Goose with the brand new Beautiful Balloons dies.  Can you ever go wrong with a cute animal holding a giant balloon??

The goose is stamped with the small balloon masked off and colored in with Stampin' Blends.  I extended the balloon string with a black Stampin' Write marker.

The balloon is die cut from retired In Color Glimmer Paper in Tahitian Tide which gives this CAS card a nice bit of sparkle.  I used the confetti die across the center of the ballon and then used it once more with the challenge colors and then filled the pieces back in.  I popped it on dimensionals and added a baker's twine bow.

A narrow strip of retired Butterfly Kisses DSP adds a little bit more color to the bottom of the card and helps balance the big balloon up top.

The sentiment from another new set, Zany Zoo is stamped in black.

Thanks so much for having me Color Throwdown!

Berry Snowflake - Stampin' Up! Snow Crystal

I know it seems really early to be making Christmas cards but it's never a bad idea to pad the Christmas card stash whenever you can.  But don't worry you won't see many more from me for a while as this Snow Crystal background stamp is the only Christmas-y stamp I have besides one set of all sentiments.  I just had the idea that this snowflake would look great paired up with Berry Burst and I don't think I'm wrong!

I'm using the colors over at TGIF Challenges: Berry Burst, Petal Pink and Basic Black.

The card base is the lovely returning color Berry Burst, then I heat embossed the snowflake with white embossing powder onto a piece of Bright & Beautiful DSP.  I added a narrow strip of retired Country Gingham DSP in a plaid Petal Pink patterns.

The sentiment from Brightest Glow is stamped in Memento Black onto Basic White and cut out with one of the label dies in the Sentimental Park die set.  I popped it on dimensionals over a length of retired Petal Pink twill ribbon.

The final accents are some Polished dots scattered around the card front.  I usually don't use this many but I wanted to use up the last of them in the pack.  Such satisfaction in using up every single embellishment on a sheet!

All current products can be ordered in my ONLINE STORE.

Celebrate You - Stampin' Up! Zany Zoo

My weekend was completely filled with soccer games so the stamping time was very limited.  Luckily I made a few cards on Friday to be able to share until I could get back in the stamp room.  I only ordered 3 bundles from the demo pre-order and I'm waiting to place another order until after my retirement BOGO sale because I need to make room before I can add anything new!  So you're stuck with seeing a limited amount of new things from the annual catalog until then.  Hopefully you'll see lots of idea from the new sets I do have!

Have you noticed how much I'm using Zany Zoo??  The animals are just so cute and because there are so many of them they lend themselves to a lot of different color combinations.  For my card today I used the Color Throwdown colors and at first I thought about balloons or flowers but then I thought that the alligator/crocodile on the bike would be so cute!

I ended up using the just retired Soft Succulent Blends to color in the alligator because none of the current greens fit the challenge of sage green but you use what you have on hand and make the best of it.

The card base is I think my favorite of the brand new colors, Lemon Lolly.  It's just such a bright fresh yellow.  I used a piece of the new Bright & Beautiful DSP which shows off all of the new/returning colors except for Pecan Pie.  It's a great pack to get to have a bit of paper to go with all the colors.  I used the scallop edge die from Zany Zoo dies on the DSP and then backed it with Basic White.

I dug through my old ribbon and found a bit of retired Early Espresso seam binding ribbon and wrapped that around the DSP panel before adhering.

The image is stamped in Memento Black, then colored in with Blends markers, die cut and then popped on dimensionals.  The sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso just above the DSP panel.

The flower accents are cut with dies from the Zany Zoo dies and added to the card front with dimensionals.  I used my Lemon Lolly Blends marker to color a few rhinestones for the flower center and then one retired Fine Sparkle Adhesive-backed gem for the third one.

You can shop for current products used on this card in my ONLINE STORE.

Birthday Ballerina - Stampin' Up! Zany Zoo

I'm working furiously to get samples made for my upcoming new catalog open house and BOGO retirement sale (if you're local to me in the Richmond, VA area RSVP by Wed. if you want to come!) and I am using all my favorite challenges to help me out.  The challenges give me a starting place for a card instead of starting from scratch and makes it much faster at least for me.

For my card today I used the Color Hues challenge of Hot Pink and Cyan which I translated to Melon Mambo and Tahitian Tide and a dose of black as a neutral.

The card base is Melon Mambo, then a layer of Basic White with the edges roughed up for texture and topped with a piece of Zoo Crew DSP.  I created the little stage with Tahitian Tide and another piece Zoo Crew DSP and the Zany Zoo dies and Stylish Shapes circle die.  A nice little place for the ballerina to show off.  She's stamped and colored with Blends and then die cut and popped on dimensionals over a strip of Basic Black.

The sentiment is stamped then cut out with the banner die in the Zany Zoo dies.  I trimmed it down a bit to better fit the space.

The final touches are the metallic woven ribbon bow and the enamel stars on the stage curtains.

To purchase any of the current items on this card you can shop in my ONLINE STORE.

Floral Embroidery Hoop - Stampin' Up! Crafting with You

One of the new bundles in the 2023-2024 Stampin' Up! Annual catalog is the Crafting with You bundle and I love the different craft/hobby images in the stamp set but I think the dies are even better.  Not only do you have dies that match the images you have extras like thread spools, a ruler, buttons and a paper trimmer but you have an embroidery hoop!  Think of all the small images that you can highlight within this hoop!!  Letters!  Little animals! Sentiments!  It's such a cool little die and I'm sure this won't be the last time you see it on one of my cards!

I used the gorgeous color combo over at CAS Colours & Sketches to make today's card.  Pool Party, Night of Navy & Flirty Flamingo.

I started with a Pool Party base, then a layer of Basic White embossed with the retired Tufted embossing folder.  Next I cut out the hoop shape in some retired wood grain paper called Natural Touch Specialty paper but any wood grain paper would work or you could color your own with Blends for a custom look.  I backed the hoop with a Basic White circle with a little bit of Pool Party ink blended on with a blending brush.

I colored the flower image with markers in the challenge colors and stamped it on Basic White and cut it out and popped it with dimensionals on the hoop.  The whole hoop is adhered with more dimensionals to the card front.

The sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy with a Flirty Flamingo hearts (stamped off once) and then punched with a 1" circle punch.  A tiny Night of Navy baker's twine bow is the finishing touch for this CAS card.

Check out the new Crafting with You Bundle as well as all the other new products just released by Stampin' Up! in my ONLINE STORE.

Bold Balloons - Stampin' Up! Beautiful Balloons

Are you all loving the new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog?  I have so many new things on my wishlist but for now I need to keep working with the products I got during the demonstrator pre-order until I can place another order.  I have so many ideas and just need to make the time to try them out.  My card today is a nice masculine birthday card using the Beautiful Balloons dies and a great color combo.  There isn't much stamping at all on this one.  It's all about the dies on this design.

I started this birthday card with a nice star background using a piece of Bright & Beautiful DSP.   Next I made a frame using the retired Stitched Rectangle dies and Basic White cardstock.

The big balloons are die cut in Night of Navy, Coastal Cabana and Lemon Lime Twist and each are sponged around the edges in with the same color ink.  I cut out a star on the Lemon Lime Twist balloon and added one cut out of Blueberry Bushel.  The Coastal Cabana balloon is jazzed up with silver Glimmer paper and Alphabet a la Mode numbers.  The trio of balloons is popped with dimensionals over the frame.

I die cut a Night of Navy and Silver Glimmer paper tassels and added them and the sentiment with a baker's twine bow to the Coastal Cabana balloon.  The sentiment is from the new retired Best Day stamp set.

A few matte dots in Parakeet Party are added to the corners.  Parakeet Party and Lemon Lime Twist are very close and embellishments can be used interchangeably in my opinion.

Current Stampin' Up! products can be ordered in my ONLINE STORE.  Orders of $40 or more (before tax/shipping) will get a free cardstock color swatch ring as a thank you from me during the month of May.  I'd love to be your Stampin' Up! demonstrator if you're looking for one!

Pocket Goose - Stampin' Up! Silly Goose

I have been stamping new projects the last few days but I can't show them yet due to birthdays and an upcoming mom holiday!  I don't want to spoil the surprise.  Luckily I have another project we made at my last class to share today.

We used the Silly Goose stamp to make this super easy pocket card.  The card base is just one layer with the little pocket and then the card is a small card that just slides into the pocket.  I told my stampers this is a fantastic design if you need to make a lot of cards!  Cute doesn't always mean complicated!  Using the Silly Goose set makes it even easier since it's so simple to color!  Just beak and feet!  The other 2 cards at that class were coloring heavy so I needed a design that didn't take forever to make!

I used the Host DSP Dandy Designs from Sale-a-Bration since I didn't have enough of any current DSP to create 20 cards.  I love these pretty spring colors.  But you can use any DSPs you have on hand.

The card base is Whisper White thick and is just a quarter sheet of regular card stock cut to 5.5" x 4.25" and topped with a slightly smaller piece of DSP.

To make the pocket just cut 2 squares in half along the diagonal, one in Basic White and the other in a coordinating DSP.  The card stock square is 3.5" x 3.5" and the DSP is 3.25" x 3.25".  Adhere 2 of the triangles together then carefully put glue on the 2 sides leaving the long side open to create the pocket.  Make a second card in no time with the other pocket pieces.

For the little card use an 8" x 3" piece of Basic White and fold it in half.  Stamp the goose, color it in then add the 2 DSP border pieces.  We used the Basic Borders dies for the detailed edge but any fun edge die would work.  The sentiment is stamped and popped up with dimensionals on the pocket.

Finally a simple white bakers twine bow finishes off this sweet thank you card.

You can find the Silly Goose set in the new Annual catalog as it carried over from the mini.  Check out page 51 for fun samples.  Supplies to make this card can be ordered on my website under SHOP NOW.

Rainy Day Hello - Stampin' Up! Playing in the Rain

Today is the last day to order the Playing in the Rain bundle and save 10%!  The stamp set and dies are carrying over into the new catalog but you won't get the great bundle pricing! Is it on your wish list??  Order with me before 11:59 MT to save yourself some money to use towards the new Annual Catalog that will be released tomorrow!

My stampers made this card in class last week and had fun mixing and matching colors using the colored pencils for the image.

We used many of the products in Playing in the Rain suite.  The Balmy Blue background panel is embossed with the Raindrops embossing folder (also carrying over) and then strips of Rain or Shine DSP (not carrying over) are added to one side while the fox image is on the other popped on a sentiment banner.

The fox is stamped in Stazon onto Shimmery white cardstock and then colored with colored pencils and a blender pen.  It was fun seeing what colors everyone chose to color in the umbrella and rain coat/hat.  I used Flirty Flamingo and Daffodil Delight for the umbrella and Balmy Blue for the coat and hat on this sample.

The finishing touch is a few Fine Sparkle Adhesive backed gems on the banner.

My ONLINE STORE is open to purchase available products that I've used on my cards.

If you're in the Richmond, VA area and would like to join me for a class to make a card like this one see my Events Calendar for upcoming classes.
