I'm playing along with the Perfectly CAS challenge today with this floral water colored card. The theme is 'flowers' and the cluster of flowers in the Hand-Penned Petals set is a fun one to use for tons of different kinds of cards. I had a set of colors in mind that I saw in a catalog and while my end result was not quite the subtle and muted tones of my inspiration I like how it turned out.
I started by stamping the image in Crumb Cake onto the corner of a piece of watercolor paper. I then used reinkers and an aquapainter to color in the flowers, mixing and matching to get some variation in the colors.
I then stamped the 'hello' from Biggest Wish in Crumb Cake and added a little pearl and retired sequin. Remember the challenge is a clean and simple one so I couldn't go all crazy adding lots of embellishments even if I wanted to just a bit.
To give some more interest to the card front while still keeping CAS, I didn't center the layers but mounted them so they are all even up in the top corner with just a bit of color peeking out beneath to the side and bottom.
Thanks for looking! Did you stamp today?
