Sponged Sky

I had some fun with my sponge daubers to make this card for the CAS(e) this Sketch challenge which closes shortly!

I used 4 different colors of blue to make the sky after embossing the bird/branch stamp from Serene Silhouettes in white.  I started with the lightest color, Soft Sky at the bottom and then went up with Marina Mist, Island Indigo and finally Night of Navy.

Getting the sentiment part of the sketch was the hardest part of this card.  I wanted to do a sympathy or thinking of you card and I was having a hard time finding a stamp that worked well as that element.  Either the stamp was too big or not the right words.  I finally went with the itty bitty "thinking of you" from Petite Pairs punched with the short side of the Decorative Label punch.  I had to beef up what it was paired with so it wouldn't get lost and just look like it was floating under the tree.  I added a strip of the new cotton ribbon in Island Indigo and a rhinestone.  To bring in some of the Crumb Cake color from the card base I looped a bit of linen thread on a few glue dots and layered the punch/ribbon combo on top.

  Here's a closer look:
