Retro Hexagon Hive

  Good morning!  It's so nice to see the sun shining this morning!  We've had a few days in a row of yucky, wet, cold weather here in Richmond.   The boys first soccer games of the season were cancelled on Saturday and they were so disappointed.  With all the extra time at home and not being able to go outside you'd think I would have gotten a lot accomplished right?  Nope.  I was totally lazy all weekend.  I think the most that I did was a few loads of laundry.  Really.  Not even stamping.  Now I'm probably going to spend all day kicking myself thinking of all the things I should have done!

  But first things first, here is another one of the cards we made at stamp club last week.  This one is so easy it's not even funny!  The Hexagon Hive thinlet die does all the work!

  The card base is So Saffron and then we layered a piece of the Retro Fresh DSP on top.  The Hexagon Hive thinlet was used with a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.  The trick to getting all the cuts to go through is to use a piece of waxed paper on top of the cardstock when making your sandwich for the Big Shot.  I also think running it through twice worked well for my machine.  That way you know all your hexagons are cut and will fall right out....no poking!

  We layered the die cut on top of the DSP with dimensionals.  To embellish the the die cut we took some other Retro Fresh DSP and cut out the hexagons with the thinlet die and adhered them randomly.

  Using the Baked Brown Sugar and Tangerine Tango we inked up the sentiment from the Just Sayin' set and then cut it out with the matching framelit.  A little mini brad was added for some easy detail and then the word bubble was also popped up with dimensionals.

  Off to start on my "should have done it over the weekend" list!  =)
