Evergreen Birthday - Stampin' Up! Peaceful Evergreens
It's always nice when a seasonal stamp set can also be used for all year round cards so when I wanted to make a masculine card for the Addicted to CAS challenge I thought the trees in the Peaceful Evergreen stamp set would be perfect even though it's shown as more of a Christmas/winter stamp set. Not a snowflake or Christmas ornament in sight for this design!
For those nature loving guys on your birthday card list this is a great classic design. I started with a Crumb Cake base, then embossed a Crumb Cake panel with the Birch Wood embossing folder for some "woodsy" texture.
Since this is a clean and simple card I wanted to add interest to the tree panel without having to add a lot more layers. I used Very Vanilla and cut it with the Countryside Corners dies for a "more than a rectangle" look.
I stamped the large evergreen in Mossy Meadow ink and then to make the tree look more full I stamped the next largest evergreen on top.
The sentiment from Simply Said is stamped in Versamark on Misty Moonlight cardstock and then embossed in gold. A bit of Gold Trim is added to the back before the strip is popped on dimensionals. 2 gold sequins finish off the understated details of the card.
I can already think of a few guys that this card might be going to! I should have made multiples I guess.

Simple Fall Hello - Stampin' Up! Autumn to Remember
I keep thinking that if I stamp it, they will come. Kind of like the movie Field of Dreams. If I keep stamping the fall cards then maybe the fall weather will show up! So I'm at it again with another autumn themed card to call out for cooler weather and some beautiful foliage! I used the prompt of leaves from CAS on Fridays for this one.
I had unearthed some long retired cardstock a few months ago and I've tried to use it up when I can and I had one full sheet left and I thought the natural look would work well for this clean and simple design.
I started with the retired Naturals Ivory for the card base, then another layer of it cut with the Deckled Rectangle dies. I sponged the edges with Pecan Pie ink to add detail but keeping with the simple look. I used the die again to cut a corner of Iconic Celebrations DSP in a nice Pecan Pie plaid pattern to add interest. the whole panel is then popped on the card front with dimensionals.
The sentiment from the Simply Said stamp set is stamped in Pecan Pie to the side of the DSP.
Using the new Autumn to Remember stamp set I stamped the maple leaf onto a piece of color blended cardstock that I had left over from another project. I used Pecan Pie ink and stamped off once for a very light look. The leaf is then fussy cut.
A linen thread bow completes the card keeping it all clean and simple.

Iconic Celebration - Stampin' Up! Iconic Imagery
I always have a need for birthday cards so keeping my card box stocked is a top priority. Luckily there are a lot of great challenges out there for inspiration. I'm combining the Seize the Birthday challenge with the layout from Freshly Made Sketches. Seize the Birthday wants us to make a birthday card using the word 'Celebrate'. The big celebrate stamp in the Iconic Imagery stamp set was perfect for this challenge!
I'm slowly working my way through the Bright & Beautiful DSP so I used a fun pattern from that pack that gave me a lot of colors to pull from. On top of the DSP I added a Berry Burst panel embossed with the Dotted Circles embossing folder. That gave me a nice dark background to add all of the details.
Following the sketch I created 2 focal points. The one on the bottom uses the big sentiment and I added the cake from the Attention Shopper stamp set as well as some hearts and stars also from Iconic Imagery. The sentiment is fussy cut and popped on dimensionals.
The top focal point are a trio of candles and another heart adhered over the top of a Iridescent Striped trim ribbon. It's hard to see in the photo but all the candles are highlighted with clear Wink of Stella. For a bit more shine I added some retired Iridescent Rhinestones for even more shine (Hot tip: these are currently on the Clearance Rack for a great price!!).

Choosing Pumpkins - Stampin' Up! Choose Happy
I don't send many Halloween cards but it's always fun to create a few during the season and it's fun to come up with designs that aren't just orange and black! The fun color combo at Color Throwdown was just too good to pass up! I paired it with a past sketch from Freshly Made Sketches that I didn't have time to play along with when it was current.
This is a super simple design to let the fun pumpkins and colors pop! I started with a Peach Pie card base, then cut a smaller piece of Basic White and rounded the bottom corners. I used a blending brush and some Pretty in Pink ink to make a little area for the pumpkins to be grounded on.
The pumpkins from Choose Happy stamp set are stamped in Memento and then colored in with Blends markers in the challenge colors. The second Peach Pie pumpkin has the jack-o-lantern face stamped on it. they are all then fussy cut and added to the card front. The jack-o-lantern is popped on a dimensional.
I pulled out the retired set Good Greetings and stamped the 'boo to you' in Memento Black.
2 Adhesive-backed sparkle gems are added for just a touch shine.

Stampin' Up! Autumn to Remember Scrapbook Kit
I've completed my first scrapbook pages ever! After card making for 20 years and not doing a bit of scrapbooking I've jumped into it now that Stampin' Up! has released these fantastic scrapbook kits where you get everything you need to create 6 coordinating pages. I have to admit I was hesitant at first because a 12x12 page is a huge area compared to cards. But the kit made everything so easy! Everything I needed was included except for a paper trimmer and adhesive! The instructions were clear for cutting the cardstock and Designer Series Paper as well as for placement of all the pieces. The embellishments and stickers were easy to use and super cute.
Now all I need is for a scrapbooker to give me some tips on photographing these big pages!!

Green and Gold Evergreen - Stampin' Up! Peaceful Evergreens
The Season of Elegance suite in the Sept.-Dec. min catalog is just gorgeous and chock full of great products to create elegant Christmas cards. I showed my stampers some of them the other day at class when they made this card. The gold accents really make this card I think. If you can't get the whole suite definitely check out the 2 stamp & die bundles and the Season of Elegance DSP!
This design starts with a Mossy Meadow base. Next up is a piece of Soft Sea Foam stamped with the smaller line of pine trees in the Peaceful Evergreen stamp set. Mossy Meadow in is just and the first row is in full strength and the row behind, just slightly offset, is stamped off once.
The piece of Basic White is torn at the top to look like snow and the 'merry' from the Peaceful Season stamp set is also stamped in Mossy Meadow.
The large tree is stamped in Mossy Meadow and then die cut. A piece of Season of Elegance DSP is die cut and overlaid to bring in some depth and of course that gorgeous gold! A length of Cherry Cobbler & Gold satin ribbon is added behind the tree before adhering it with dimensionals.
The 2 layered 'Christmas' die cuts are put together with one layer of Cherry Cobbler cardstock and the top layer is gold foil. That piece is also popped on dimensionals.
The final details are some Gold Textured Adhesive-Backed Dots added around the sentiment.
I was glad I cut a few extra cards packs of this design so I could make a few for myself for my Christmas card stash!

Snowy Bear - Stampin' Up! Christmas Friends
I'm playing along with the As You See It Challenge today. They have a great color combo with Azure Afternoon, Granny Apple Green and Shaded Spruce. At first I was going to try for a masculine card but then veered away from that and ended up doing a Christmas card! The Christmas Friends bundle seemed like it was a good match for a snowy scene using these colors.
I used an Azure Afternoon card base and then stamped the Falling Snow background stamp in white craft ink onto the front. A slightly smaller panel of Basic White is first die cut with big circle in the Christmas Friends die set and then die cut again with the "snow" die from the Peaceful Evergreen die set.
The chubby bear is stamped in Memento black and then colored with Stampin' Blends. He's popped up on dimensionals at the bottom of the circle.
I cut several layers of greenery in the 2 challenge greens and then layered them with mini dimensionals and adhered them to the top of the circle.
Two snowflakes in Azure Afternoon (one stamped off) from the Iconic Imagery stamp set are added because I thought that the bear needed something to look at lol! The word 'joy' is stamped in Shaded Spruce and trimmed to fit the snowflake.
A bit of retired Azure Afternoon ribbon is tied in a fork bow and added to the greenery. A faceted gem is added to the second snowflake and Wink of Stella adds some shimmer to the wreath bow.
This was a fun card to pull together using bits from different Christmas sets. I might have to try a polar bear next!
