I'm playing along with the Paper Players challenge for my card today. Their challenge is to do a Clean and Simple pets card.
I decided to use my own dog as a starting point for my card and then added in some nice fall leaves for color. My pup Aggie had a good time playing in the leaf piles last fall when we raked the yard so I thought I would try to create a card around that.
I started with a Very Vanilla thick card base. The next layer is Cinnamon Cider topped with a Very Vanilla panel embossed with the Tasteful Textiles embossing folder. I stamped the Happy Thanksgiving sentiment from Banner Year in Cinnamon Cider ink before embossing.
My pup is stamped with the retired Happy Tails stamp set. Aggie is a black lab so this set is her to a t! I think I'll hold onto this retired set for a really long time. I embossed the dog with clear embossing powder so she's got a nice little shine just like in real life. I chose Cherry Cobbler for the collar to keep with the fall color theme.
For the leaf pile as well as the falling leaves I stamped the leaves from the Beautiful Autumn in a variety of colors and then punched them out. The falling leaves as well as a few in the pile are popped with dimensionals.
Since the challenge was for clean and simple I didn't add any other embellishments but I will show you the inspiration for my card.
Thanks for looking! Did you stamp today?
Stamps: Beautiful Autumn, Banner Year, Happy Tails (retired)
Ink: Versamark, Cinnamon Cider, Bumblebee, Pumpkin Pie, Terracotta Tile
Paper: Very Vanilla thick, Very Vanilla, Cinnamon Cider, Basic Black
Accessories: Tasteful Textile embossing folder, clear embossing powder, Autumn Punch pack, Dog builder punch, dimensionals
This card is adorable! But of course it has to be because Aggie is adorable. She has gotten so big! I like the pile of leaves around her and the subtle texture in the background.
ReplyDeleteLove this card Amanda - I'm not sure most of the puppies I know would sit so still in a pile of autumn leaves, since this usually means game on and time for fun, but I adore the composition of your beautiful card - which looks just like your handsome hound too! Thanks for sharing with us over at The Paper Players this week!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, this is so clever and it DOES look just like Aggie! Although I doubt she'd be sitting still, LOL! Cute idea and perfectly CAS! Thanks for playing with my challenge this week at the Paper Players!
ReplyDeleteVery nice card. I love how the dog is looking at the falling leaves and all the little leaves around him. Also your inspiration for the card is adorable.
ReplyDeleteOMG . . . love the card and love the inspiration. Great job.
ReplyDeleteLove the inspiration and I love the end result. What dog doesn't love to play in a pile of leaves. Fabulous job, Amanda. So glad you were able to join us at the Paper Players this week
