There hasn't been much stamping lately but I do have this project to share that my stamping ladies made at my new catalog party a few weeks ago. I always like to showcase the new In Colors and sometimes it can be challenging to use them all on just a few projects. After browsing Pinterest and seeing several ideas I decided that a color blocked background would show them all off very nicely.
The trick to getting your strips of cardstock lined up just right is to cut a piece of Whisper White to the exact size of all your strips lined up and just adhere the colored strips to it. I tried to just adhere them to the card front and my borders kept coming out just a bit wonky. So save yourself some frustration and cardstock and use a base.
The Jar of Love stamp set has taken off like wildfire! You can't look for inspiration on the internet without seeing awesome projects using it. We used the smallest jar and inked it up with Dapper Denim (my new favorite I think!) stamped off once for a lighter look. Then the jar handle, sentiment, and fireflies (or do you call them lightning bugs??) are stamped in Basic Gray.
The coordinating Everyday Jars framelits were used to cut out the jar and handle. After adhering those pieces to a rectangle of Whisper White we added a piece of Sweet Sugarplum ruched ribbon to the handle with a glue dot. Using a sponge dauber and the Peekaboo Peach ink pad each little firefly got a bit of glow. You can't see it in the photo but the clear Wink of Stella pen was used over the top of the Peekaboo Peach spots for a little shimmer.
I hope to get back in the stamp room for some new projects to share. I have a lot of new products that need some trying out!
Thanks for looking! Did you stamp today?
