Textured Leaf - Fab Friday 51

Happy Friday!  Today Fab Friday is coming at you with a fun sketch.  I had so many ideas for this one it was hard to sit down and narrow my focus.  Did I want to make a birthday card? Christmas? A fall card perhaps?  That star with the banners could be just about anything don't you think?

Here is the sketch we are using for Fab Friday Challenge 51:

In the end I decided to go with a fall theme thinking of you card since I needed one to put in the mail and it's always nice to check 2 things off the to do list!

After using so much gold on our last challenge I surprised myself by using a bit more on this project as well!

The maple leaf is cut out of the Kraft cardstock using the Autumn Accents Bigz die.  I crumpled it up a few times for some texture.  I stamped with the chevron stamp from Work of Art after stamping off once with Soft Suede ink.  I also used the splotch stamp from Gorgeous Grunge with gold ink but it's hard to see in the photo.

The background layer is embossed with the Large Polka Dot embossing folder, edges rough up with the distressing tool and then sponged with gold ink.

The sentiment "thinking of you" is from For the Birds and was just the right size for stamping on one of my banners.

We hope you'll join us in this challenge at Fab Friday!  Head over there to check out the rest of the Design Team!

Thanks for looking!  Did you stamp today?

  1. Hi Amanda,

(firstly, nobody can EVER use too much gold in my books hahahaha!)

I think your choosing a leaf is brilliant! After all, they are the "stars" of the season, so to speak.

You really put a lot of TLC and creativity into your card an its lovely.

    Blessings,
    Barb
