Polar Delivery - Stampin' Up!® Jolly Delivery

Just a quick post today to share a card using the new Jolly Delivery bundle.  It's been fun to get a start on Christmas cards lately!  I used the Freshly Made Sketches challenge for this one.  The FMS team is on their 700th challenge!!  So many years of fabulous inspiration and I tried finding the oldest sketch I had played along with but my search feature on my blog didn't bring back results in year order so it was a bit of needle in a haystack attempt.  Needless to say I've been getting inspired by this challenge blog for a really long time!

I don't often make square cards but when the sketch calls for it I see what I can do!  I started with a Real Red base then added squares of new Christmas Tags & More DSP for the back ground.  Each square is 2"x2" so you end up with a nice border around each one.

I stamped the bear from Jolly Delivery on Basic White and then cut it out with the Stylish Shapes square die.  I stamped the gifts a second time onto DSP from the same back and cut them out to have some little paper pieced boxes.   The bear is lightly lined with my light Pool Party Blends marker to give a bit of shading (hard to see in the photo).

I stamped the mailbox in Memento onto Basic White then colored in with Blends.  It's cut and popped on dimensionals to the edge of the bear panel to follow the sketch.

Some new white & gold baker's twine is tied in a bow and added to the mailbox.  New Traditional Sparkling Sequins are added to the corner of the big square.

With the smaller surface of the square card I couldn't really get a sentiment to fit so I left it off and just added one to the inside.

Fluffy Fall - Stampin' Up!® Fluffy Squirrel

I hope you aren't tired of seeing this Fluffy Squirrel punch bundle because I think I'm just getting started! Even those of you who aren't squirrel fans can agree that the paper version has some great qualities!  He doesn't dig up your garden, he won't steal the birdseed out of your feeder and he won't sit in the tree above your card and throw acorns at you! Lots to love I think! My card today definitely has fall vibes with the color combo but the colors could be changed out for an all year round vibe.  And it's always nice to have a layout that uses 1 inch strips!

I made a set of this design recently for customer thank you cards.  It's fun to send them a little preview of what's coming out especially if they don't have a catalog yet!

I started with a Crumb Cake card base then cut 5 strips (1" x 3 1/2") and kind of layered them from dark to light starting at the top.  The Pecan Pie strip is stamped with acorns in Early Espresso, the Cajun Craze strip is a piece of the new Gathering Together DSP, the Crushed Curry has the sentiment stamped on it and the Cloud Cover piece is stamped with the cross hatch accent stamp.  I used Versamark to stamp this piece and just made sure they were dried before handling.  Using Versamark for tone on tone stamping is the perfect solution to not having the Cloud Cover ink pad available.

The squirrel outline is stamped in Early Espresso and filled in with Pecan Pie.  After he's punched out and popped on dimensionals I added a stamped and colored in acorn.

An Early Espresso linen thread bow and a few Streaked Dots at the top finish off the embellishments.

Classic Christmas - Stampin' Up!® Ornamental Christmas

A blue and gold Christmas card is classic and a clean and simple one is even more classic.  I combined Secret Sea and gold with a clean lined Christmas tree for my favorite Christmas card so far this year (out of 3 lol!).  The Ornamental Christmas bundle is coming soon with the release of the Stampin' Up!® Sept.-Dec. 2025 Mini Catalog.

I started with a Basic White thick card base, then stamped and embossed the line stamp 3 times.  I'm quite impressed with myself that I got them lined up so well!  I alternated the direction so it wouldn't look so matchy matchy.

Next I die cut the Christmas tree and then used the same line stamp but with Secret Sea ink to stamp onto the tree. I popped it on dimensionals over the gold lines.

The tree is decorated with a gold Glimmer Paper star and some gold Traditional Sparkling Sequins.

Finally the sentiment from another new set, Wishing You Joy, is stamped under the tree in Secret Sea.

I think this design would be stunning with different colors.  Imagine them fanned out in a rich rainbow assortment??  Hmmmm, going to add that to my list of stamping to-dos I think!

A Little Banner Christmas - Stampin' Up!® A Little Cheer

Welcome back to the monthly New at SU! blog hop!  We have Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world showcasing fantastic ideas using new(er) products so that when you sit down to paper craft you have a wealth of ideas to try.  This month we are CASEing each other using those new products.  Copying And Sharing Everything is a staple of the stamping world, we get inspiration from everywhere, especially other stampers.  Each of us will show the project we're CASEing with a link back to the original so be sure to check those links out as well as hop around to all of the new projects!

I'm CASEing our fearless blog hop leader Loni Spendlove (no pressure or anything lol!).  Loni and I met at the March 2025 OnStage demonstrator event when I invited myself to sit down at an open chair at her table one day at lunch.  Fun ensued and now I have a new stamping friend and a fabulous group I get to stamp with each month!

The project I'm CASEing is Loni's Birthday Cupcake Fun-Fold card:

I loved this easier than it looks fun fold with Loni's fab tutorial.  I changed mine up to use different dies and I made it Christmas instead of birthday but you can definitely see where my inspiration came from.

I'm using the A Little Cheer bundle which is an Online Exclusive that came out in July along with the Party Banner's dies from the 2025-2026 Annual Catalog.  I cut the banner shape (6th smallest) out of the card base then stamped the snowflakes all over.  I cut 2 more banners; one using the same size from the card front in Petal Pink and the other (just one smaller, 5th smallest) in Basic White.

After stamping and punching out a variety of shapes and colors I stamped the banner string across the Basic White banner and added my punched shapes adhering them with dimensionals. I set that aside and put together the inside.

I cut a Calypso Coral band of 5 1/2" x 1 1/2" and scored it at 1 1/2" and then used the 2nd smallest Party Banner die to cut the banner end.  I folded the scored tab and then adhered it under the Basic White insert that I stamped.

Next I sandwiched the 2 larger banners around the Calypso Coral band making sure everything lined up in the opening on the card front.  I added a little white & gold baker's twine bow on the band for the final touch.

I hope you hop around to see all the great projects using the below links!

Woodland Ornament - Stampin' Up!® Woodland Scenery

I've got another product preview today!  I've mixed and matched a lot of products from the September-December Mini Catalog as well as the September Online Exclusive release. After yesterday's clean and simple card I just couldn't help myself and needed to use a lot of stuff!  My layout is the current Sunday Stamps Challenge and fits just right for Christmas!

I am loving these colors together!  Cloud Cover and Secret Sea are current In Colors (products 15% right now for the month of August!) and they are just lovely in this new pack of DSP called Peaceful Garden.  I used a large panel to cover the whole front of my card.

Then I used 3/4" strips of Peaceful Garden Glimmer paper (coming soon!) to follow the sketch.  It's beautiful pack of Glimmer paper and I can see a lot of sparkly cards in my future!

Next I used the Online Exclusive Ornamental Christmas dies to cut a ornament shape in Basic White as well as an ornament topper in Cloud Cover.  I stamped a little scene on it using the Woodland Scenery stamp set (also coming soon!).  The trees are Crumb Cake, the deer Pecan Pie and the snowflakes Cloud Cover.

The "Noel" from Wishing You Joy stamp set (new) is stamped in Secret Sea onto Cloud Cover cardstock and trimmed down and adhered with a dimensional.  The whole ornament is adhered to the card front with dimensionals.

The final touch is the Secret Sea Faux Linen Ribbon knot added to the top of the ornament.  I didn't add any other embellishments because the Glimmer Paper takes card of the sparkle!

Get Nutsy Birthday - Stampin' Up! ® Fluffy Squirrel

The cute critter stamp sets are always at the top of my list when new product is released and if there is a matching punch even better!  The Fluffy Squirrel bundle coming out in the Stampin' Up!® Sept.-Dec. 2025 mini catalog checks all the boxes and it's perfect for not only fall cards but birthday also!  I used the Paper Players challenge to do a CAS (clean and simple) critter card. Done and done!

Since this is a CAS card there isn't a lot in the way of details but the cuteness makes up for that!  I started with a Basic White thick card base, then added a piece of 2025-2027 In Color DSP in a Cloud Cover pattern to give my squirrel a place to sit.  I stamped the squirrel outline in Early Espresso and then filled it in with Pecan Pie.  This stamp doesn't match the punch (the one that does faces the other way) so I fussy cut it and then popped it on dimensionals.

I stamped the little gift box in Secret Sea and then colored it with Blends.  I fussy cut that as well and popped it up on dimensionals in the squirrels hands? paws?

The sentiment is stamped in Secret Sea on an angle along the the edge of the DSP.

A few Timid Tiger Flat Pearls finish off this clean and simple critter card.

Gathering Wreath - Stampin' Up!® Gathering Moments

I was searching around for some fall color combos that I could translate into Stampin' Up! colors and I came across one that didn't seem terribly fall-like but I gave it a shot and somehow it does seem to fit the season.  But maybe that's just because I used leaves and such but you can make your own judgement.  What do you think; fall colors or not?

A simple wreath seemed like a great way to go to show off all the colors as well as a bunch of the images in the Gathering Moments bundle which is in the upcoming September Online Exclusive release.

I started with an Old Olive card base, then embossed a piece of Basic White with the Gathering Leaves embossing folder (another new product coming in September).  I stamped and die cut my images and then created a loose circle and adhered them overlapping here and there.  I laid all the pieces out and fussed a bit before adhering; I don't think it would have ended up with a circle if I had just starting gluing right off!

An Old Olive linen thread bow is tucked under the stamped and fussy cut sentiment.  I dug around in my retired embellishments and found a few retired Pacific Point faceted gems that were close enough in color so I added them for just a bit of sparkle.

Christmas Delivery - Stampin' Up!® Jolly Delivery

I'm getting into my Christmas feels again today with more new products. I decided to give the North Pole Delivery Specialty DSP a go, specifically the precut design pieces.  The only stamping on this one is the sentiment in the center.  The precut design pieces do all the work in this layout!

I used a grid layout from the layout ideas page in the upcoming Sept.-Dec. mini catalog. I started with a Real Red base then each little block has a piece of the DSP backed with a piece of Garden Green.  There are so many great images in the die cut sheets it made it a bit hard to choose but in the end I decided on the little mail truck and some stamps, a tall letter box, a shop and the striped poles.

The sentiment is stamped in Memento black and punched out.  I sandwiched a length of Pool Party ribbon between the sentiment and a larger punched circle with Real Red glimmer paper.

Gathering Fall Thanks - Stampin' Up!® Gathering Moments

It's always hard to know where to start when I get a preorder because I have so much new stuff all at once.  Yesterday I did a Christmas card but today I talked myself into making a card for the next season that's up: Fall! One of the suites I got from the preorder is the Gathering Together suite which is chock full of Autumn goodness!  I used just about every item in the suite on this card! This whole suite will be an Online Exclusive so look for it in the online store starting Sept. 3.

I started with a Basic Beige card base, with another layer of Basic Beige embossed with the Gathering Leaves embossing folder.  I added a strip of Gathering Together DSP in a Cajun Craze pattern that is the same as the embossing folder pattern.

Using a bit of Two-Toned cardstock in Early Espresso I cut a large maple leave with the Gathering Moments dies.  After quite the search for my sanding block I finally found it and was able to sand the edges of the leaf for a bit of distressing.

On top of the leaf I added a sentiment banner and a mushroom and acorn accents which are all popped on dimensionals.  The coordinating Gathering Moments stamp set has a great mix of sentiments and smaller scale image stamps (compared to the big maple leaf).

For the embellishments I added an Early Espresso linen thread bow and several Cajun Craze and Gold dots both of which are included in the suite.  The only item I didn't use was the Old Olive linen thread which I'm sure will get on a card soon!

Pastel Christmas Trees - Stampin' Up!® Ornamental Trees

I finally got ink onto some of my demonstrator preorder products.  I decided to use the upcoming Online Exclusive Ornamental Trees bundle to make this pretty pastel tree card.  The colors come from the Inspired By challenge photo prompt.  I loved the soft colors and thought they would be great on a Christmas card (I ignored the fact that it was like 90 degrees today and didn't feel a bit like Christmas!).

I started with a Basic White thick card base so that my light colors would really pop.  I stamped 5 trees in Versamark onto Basic White cardstock then embossed them in black.  I used a water painter and reinkers in my 5 colors to loosely watercolor the trees.  Then I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

The sentiment is stamped in Versamark onto Basic Black and then embossed in white.  I adhered the band across the bottom of the card which gives a nice place to anchor the trees.

The trees are adhered flat except for the the Lemon Lolly tree which is popped on dimensionals.  A final touch is a die cut star out of new Peaceful Garden Glimmer Paper.  This color is listed as soft green but on this card definitely looks silver-ish which is what I was going for.

This morning I did a Facebook live unboxing video showing all the products that I got in my Sept.-Dec. 2025 mini catalog preorder so if you want a closer look at a ton of products just check out the replay here on my YouTube channel (or you can also find it on my Facebook page).

Miss You Stripes - Stampin' Up!® With You in Mind

If you are looking for a bold pop of color for a summer card this is a great combo.  I started this card before leaving on vacation and just finished it up when I got home but was too late to share on the challenge page.  This color combo comes from the TGIF Challenge: Shy Shamrock, Peach Pie and Crumb Cake.  I did one stop stamping using just a single stamp set for the whole thing.

I start with a Crumb Cake card base, then a layer of Basic White.  I used one inch strips of the challenge colors and stamped them with the flower or leaf and then alternated the stripes across the card front.

I cut a smaller wonky circle (aka Around It All dies) and stamped the leaf and the sentiment and then popped it up on dimensionals over a twill ribbon flag from my ribbon scrap stash. The Around It All dies are currently on sale in the Last Chance products.  So if you love them don't wait to place your order!

Finally I stamped a flower and fussy cut it.  It's popped with a mini dimensional onto the wonky circle. I added a small retired Peach Pie resin dot.

My oldest is heading back to college next week so I thought this one might be nice to send to him so he has some happy mail to open.

Sweet Baby Bees - Stampin' Up! Choose Happy

I'm getting this card posted just in time to participate in the Festive Friday challenge for National Honey Bee Day which closes in a few hours.  I was on vacation last week so posting kind of fell by the wayside and since I've been home I feel like I'm just playing catch up around the house.  Anyhoo....the Choose Happy set has some great smaller images including a bee and I used the last layout out challenge that I gave to my customers a few weeks ago as well which was perfect for the small bee.

From the challenge choice board I used black, yellow, die cuts, bees and bee sentiment. I started with a Basic White thick card base, then a layer of Basic Black topped with a layer of Floral Delight DSP in a Daffodil Delight gingham pattern.

The bees are stamped in Memento black on small squares cut with the Stylish Shapes dies.  The bees are colored in with Stampin' Blends then adhered with dimensionals to a strip of Basic Black.

The sentiment is from the Bee My Valentine set and is stamped directly on the DSP.  Finally a few retired Adhesive-Backed Hearts are added under the sentiment.

Wheelie Happy Birthday - Stampin' Up!® Along These Lines

Guy cards can be hard so when my stampers ask for more guy cards at class I try to deliver.  I loved how this one turned out!  I think it can be easily CASEd even if you don't have the stamp set; use the color combo or the layout and use a stamp set that fits or change out the colors to the recipients favorites.  And the opportunity for dad jokes and terrible puns is there too if you want to go in that direction (as you can see by the title of this one!).

I started with a Cloud Cover base then used the Party Banners dies to make a long narrow banner out of Florals in Bloom DSP.  The B sides to this paper pack are lovely small patterns that work beautifully for cards.  This one is in a Secret Sea pattern which works perfectly for a guy card.

Next I used the Stylish Shapes dies to cut a Summer Splash square.  The stitching details along the edge is a great way to add interest without extra layers. Using the long line stamp in the Along These Lines stamp set I stamped stripes across the square in the same color ink.

The next layer is a Basic White rectangle that the bicycle is stamped on in Memento Black.  Some of the bicycle details are colored in with markers.  The short line stamp is used to extend the bike lines off the cardstock.  This layer is popped up with dimensionals.

A small Party Banner die cut in Timid Tiger is stamped with the sentiment from Choose Happy and is tucked under the edge of the Basic White layer.

Finally a few 2025-2025 In Color Flat Pearls are added to the corner.  Since 3 of the 4 colors of this card are 2025-2027 In Colors you have several choices to use with this pack of embellishments.  And speaking of In Colors don't forget that this group of In Colors is 15% off the rest of August.  Which color are you stocking up on?  Me?  I can't choose just one so I'm getting all of them!

Flora for Days - Stampin' Up!® Extraordinary Flora

Last month my stampers enjoyed using the Extraordinary Flora bundle and washi tape at class so I wanted to use the bundle again on it's own so they could see other ways to use it with out the washi.  I love the large stamp that covers close to a full card front and makes a lovely background.  The images are small so it doesn't take as long as you think it might to get it all colored in.  I chose colors that were a bit different than the washi as well.

I started with a Lemon Lolly card base.  Then stamped the image on Basic White with memento ink.  To keep the card clean lined I matted the image panel with another one of Basic White and edged the one side with a strip of Strawberry Slush.

I colored the images with a variety of Stampin' Blends markers and then popped the whole panel on dimensionals.

For the sentiment I used Simply Said and did the same white on white layers with more dimensionals and circle punches.

The sentiment is accented with a Strawberry Slush Faux Linen ribbon knot and 2025-2027 In Color Flat Pearls.

Sky Thank You - Stampin' Up!® Layered Thoughts

I made a set of thank you cards for the boys to send out their birthday gift thank yous and I didn't want to just make 4 of the same cards and I wanted them to be a little bit more masculine.  I pulled out the Everyday Skies DSP and the Layered Thoughts stamp set and mixed and matched colors to coordinate with the different sky designs.

I pulled narrow scraps and inks that matched the DSP colors and just layered them above and below the stamped sentiment.

I didn't realize how many blues were represented in the Everyday Skies until I pulled out my inks and the next thing I knew I had 5 or 6 blues ready to go.  The Layered Thoughts set is great for more mixing and matching with the different colors as well.

Having so many colors in the paper I was able to use up some retired embellishments and I had colors to match each one!

I love this last pattern so much with the night sky at the top and the clouds turning purple with the last bit of sunshine.

Bright Sunny Days - Stampin' Up!® Month By Month

I saw the Addicted to CAS challenge the other day and thought it was was a fitting prompt for this time of the year; Sunshine.  It was blazing hot so it was easy to get inspired for a hot sunny card!  I had a great time with this one mixing and matching supplies from different stamp sets and bundles.

I had two small sun stamps from different sets but they were so small I was having a hard time envisioning how to use them for a CAS card.  After poking through my supplies I realized I had this burst stamp that was in the Virtual Album Retreat stamp set the Month by Month set.  I could work with that!

I started with a Basic White thick base then cut a Textured Notes dies out of Basic White and backed it with a panel of Timid Tiger.  I stamped the burst stamp twice.  Once in Daffodil Delight and once in stamped off Timid Tiger to make my sun rays.

For the sun face I punched a 1" circle out of Daffodil Delight and sponged the edges with the same ink.  I used the Bee My Valentine stamp set to make the mouth.  I used one of the bee face stamps and just inked the mouth with my Basic Black Stampin' Write marker.

The sunglasses are die cut using the glasses in the Poppin' By die set.  I used Blueberry Bushel and Basic Black.  The lenses are colored over with clear Wink of Stella for a fun sparkle.  Once that was all adhered I popped the circle up on dimensionals over the rays.

The sentiment is from the Spring Corners stamp set that is currently on sale on the Last Chance List.  Finally I added a few retired blue glass dots that coordinated with the blue of the sunglasses.

I was happy with how all my mixing and matching of unrelated stamp sets and dies turned out.

New Home Congrats - Stampin' Up!® Humble Home

I needed to make a congratulations on your new home card recently and I pulled out my Home Builder punch and got to work.  I hope you all have already gotten this punch because it just sold out a week ago.  It was originally in last years Sept.-Dec. mini catalog.  It's adorable and I will be keeping this one in my collection for sure.  The stamp set is still available so look for it in the Last Chance category in the online store.  It's a great price!  I'm sharing this one over at The Alphabet Challenge where they are on the letter H for Home.

I started with a piece of black and white dotted retired Pattern Party DSP.  Next I added a Basic White band down the center that is embossed with the Forever Plaid embossing folder.  I used Pool Party to cut a rectangle with the Textured Notes dies for the house background.

I knew what the new house looked like so I wanted to match the colors as closely as I could.  I punched the house base from Gray Granite, stamped the roof and windows in Memento black and fussy cut them.  The door is stamped in Cherry Cobble and also fussy cut.  I out all the pieces together and popped the house on dimensionals.

I had to search through my stamp sets to find a "congratulations" that would fit the rectangle and not overpower the house.  I found the perfect one in the Extraordinary Flora stamp set.  Then I popped the big panel on dimensionals.

4 black enamel dots finish off the corners for the last detail.

Two-Toned Ocean - Stampin' Up!® Notes & Totes Dies

The recent sale of Two-Toned cardstock had me looking through my stock to see which colors I had and which colors I wanted more of (the answer is I want them all!).  As I was falling asleep one night I thought that it would be cool to take several colors and do an ocean background with torn edges.  Am I the only one that designs cards in my mind?  Well this one actually came out pretty much like I had imagined.  I had enough Two-Toned cardstock in the colors I wanted to use and the addition of the Notes & Totes dies makes for a nice focal image along with the "ocean" background.  My stampers enjoyed making this one at my last class.

The background is simply 3 pieces of Two-Toned cardstock cut 2" x 5 1/2" in Pretty Peacock, Lost Lagoon, and Pool Party.  A piece of Crumb Cake (regular cardstock) is used for the sand layer.  The other half of the Crumb Cake piece is used on the inside of the card.  The "sand" is stamped with the speckled stamp in the Notes & Totes stamp set

Each piece of Two-Toned cardstock is simply torn in half the long way and starting at the top going from dark to light each strip is adhered to the Basic White thick card base leaving the torn edges slightly curled up.

To make the tote we use a piece of Florals in Bloom DSP and simply cut the center panel of the tote die. I didn't use the full size tote because I didn't want to cover up so much of the background. We trimmed off any extra from the sides leaving the stitched detail at the top.  You could also make this smaller tote with just a rectangle of paper as well but I liked the stitched detail at the top.  The edges and handle are die cut out of Pecan Pie cardstock and the then trimmed to fit the smaller tote.

The sentiment is stamped in Pretty Peacock and then fussy cut and is adhered with trimmed down dimensionals.

Several shells were die cut out of Fresh Freesia and Petunia Pop and are added to the bottom of the card as well as the inside.

Wheelie Happy Birthday - Stampin' Up!® Along These Lines

Not only do do both of my boys have July birthdays we also have a niece and nephew who celebrate theirs in July as well so I needed quite a few teen birthday cards this month.  My ideas for punch art cards were tapped out after doing SpongeBob and Curtis the Cat so I went back to stamping for the card for our nephew!  I was inspired by the Paper Players challenge of clean and simple "things with wheels" but my card didn't end up clean and simple so I'm not sharing it there but wanted to give credit for the inspiration.  I went with the dad joke of "Hope you have a wheelie Happy Birthday" for the inside; teens love those jokes I'm told lol!

I didn't really have a plan when I started other than using the bike image from Along These Lines stamp set so I pulled a few colors out that seemed like fun summer colors and then cut some bands at 1 3/8" wide in Timid Tiger, Lemon Lolly, Azure Afternoon and Coastal Cabana.  I stamped each band with the bike in the same color ink going all the way across linking each image to the next.

Then I adhered each band across a Basic White thick card base and then trimmed off the overhang.  I stamped the bike again but this time in Versamark onto Basic White and then embossed it in black.  I used the Stylish Shapes dies to cut the circle.  Using Stampin' Write markers in a few of the card colors I  highlighted a few parts of the bike.  Helpful hint: don't use Blends when coloring in embossed images as the alcohol ink reacts with the embossing and pulls the embossing away if they touch.

Finally I stamped and embossed the sentiment from The Right Words onto Timid Tiger cardstock and popped that above the bike and added a retired faceted gem for the embellishment.

Little Christmas Squares - Stampin' Up!® A Little Cheer

I'm trying to cool off on this HOT July day by thinking ahead to a cozy Christmas time.  The Just Add Ink challenge is Christmas in July so I thought I would break out my brand new A Little Cheer bundle that was released this month in Stampin' Up!®'s Online Exclusives.  I can't resist a sweet little punch bundle and now is the perfect time to get some cards stocked in my Christmas bins!

The images are smaller than I thought they would be once I punched them out so be aware that the punches don't leave any white border around the image like a lot of the Stampin' Up!® punches.  If you're using just the stamped image it will be a little bit bigger but still pretty small.

When I've got small images to highlight I always like to add them to several layers of cardstock to give them a nice base so they don't get lost on that big card front.  I used a bit of Floral Impressions DSP in a nice Garden Green pattern for the background.  I added a length of Real Red ribbon before adding the next layers.

Real Red, then a piece of Country Woods DSP, then a 1 1/4" square for each image make up the base.  I stamped the stocking in Real Red, the tree in Garden Green, embossed the star in gold and stamped the sentiment in Memento Black.  Each image is punched and popped up on a 1" square.  The sentiment square is popped also.

Finally a fork bow on the side finishes off the details on this card.  This would be a quick one to make multiples of and use up some smaller scraps of Basic White.  Change up the DSP to match your color scheme and you have a whole new look!

Good Vibes - Stampin' Up!® Month by Month

I've been participating in the Stampin' Up!® Virtual Album Retreat the last few days and as a baby scrapbooker I'm learning a lot and having a lot of fun with it but I'm also coming to realize that crafting after 10pm is not for me! Stampin' Up!® is trying to accommodate many of the time zones and for some of us that means very early mornings or late nights if you're following along live!  I'm definitely more of daytime/early evening crafter!  The later it gets, the harder it is to adhere things straight!  But the great thing is that I can go back and watch each class when it suits me to do it.  I'll get around to sharing the pages once I've got them put together, maybe a video to show all the cool things I learned!  Anyway I've been using the stamp sets that we're using on the scrapbook pages on some cards because who doesn't love a product that can be used on multiple projects!?  The Month by Month set has a lot of what I would call accent images but also has some flowers that are great for cards as well.  I'm using the closed TGIF Challenge layout for today's card.

I picked out the DSP patterns first and then pulled in the rest of the products to complement them.  I liked the Secret Sea pattern with the floral from the Florals in Bloom DSP so I used those for the overlapping corner layer.  I used the retired Basic Borders dies to get the long curved shapes.

I layered the DSP onto a Cloud Cover base that has a second layer of Cloud Cover embossed with the Glass & Garden embossing folder.  I used the folder twice to get the pattern to cover the whole panel.

The flowers are the images from the Month by Month stamp set from the virtual album retreat.  I stamped the large one in Timid Tiger then colored it with Blends.  The smaller flowers are stamped in Summer Splash and also colored in.  I got a bit heavy handed with the blending and ended up losing some of the image detail so if I were to re-create this one I would use a darker ink for the stamped image or just get better at coloring lol!

The flowers are fussy cut then popped on dimensionals along with some die cut leaves from the Impressions Abloom dies in Secret Sea.

The sentiment from The Right Words is stamped in Secret Sea and added to the corner to follow the sketch.  A few Secret Sea Flat Pearls accent the Summer Splash flowers.

Curtis the Cat Birthday - Stampin' Up!® Month by Month Alphabet

My boys' birthdays are 4 days apart so there is always a lot of birthday celebration during birthday week.  And So. Much. Cake.  It's hard to get through so much birthday dessert no matter how good it is.  We currently have most of a SpongeBob cake, most of an assorted cheesecake platter and a key lime pie that I had bought for an event that ended up being cancelled.  I'm going to have to make room in the freezer I think!  Anyway... my card today is for my oldest on his birthday.  I decided to do a punch art cat that looks like his cat since the SpongeBob card came out so well.

Meet Curtis the Cat.  He's actually not this chubby in real life but the shape worked and I used the dies that I had on hand.  I started with a Balmy Blue background embossed with the Forever Plaid embossing folder.   The stripes on Curtis are created with an aqua painter and Peach Pie ink as well as some white craft ink sponged on various areas to mimic Curtis' white splotches.  The edges of all the pieces are sponged with Pumpkin Pie ink to give him a fuzzy appearance.

The eyes came out kind of crazy looking; he doesn't look this unhinged in real life lol!  The whiskers are just super thin cuts of Basic White.  The stamped meow's are made with the Month By Month Alphabet set that comes in the Stampin' Up! Virtual Album Retreat kit.

He may look like he wants you to rub his belly but don't be fooled!!  lol!

New at SU! - Blooming Phrases Birthday

The New at SU Blog Hop is back this month with some fabulous inspiration for birthdays!  We've got demonstrators from around the world sharing fun, creative projects to get you inspired for your own crafting.

I decided to use the Blooming Phrases stamp set to make a set of birthday card that will get me through the next month of cards that I need to send out.  Using many of the same supplies for each card made this set come together really quickly!

All of my cards use the Damask Designs embossing folder in the background for a subtle bit of pattern.  The Shaded Spruce works well for the stems and leaves and makes the flower colors just pop!

I used the same layout for the sentiment on each card and just changed up the flower type and colors.

Each card has a color duo that is a "light" and "dark" and helps keeps the design clean and simple.

One flower on each card is fussy cut and popped up for a little bit more dimension.

The embellishments are very simple as well with just a few gems in one of the colors added around the sentiment/flowers.

Take a look at your birthday calendar and plan out what cards you need and grab the Blooming Phrases stamp set to get them made!

Record Year - Stampin' Up! The Right Words

My card today was going to be my oldest's birthday card until I had a better idea I wanted to do instead.  He's really into vinyl records and has already amassed quite the collection so I thought a record themed card would be fun.  I used the Sunday Stamps challenge layout.  Those circles were perfect for this theme!

I used a piece of retired Pattern Party DSP for the background.  Following the sketch I added two narrow strips of Basic Black.

For the records I used the retired Sale-a-Bration set Textures & Frames.  The open circle image is stamped in Versamark on Basic Black and then embossed with clear embossing powder.  I made 3 and then punched them out.

Smaller circles in Pool party, Shy Shamrock and Blueberry Bushel are adhered to the center of the records and then I used a small handheld circle punch for the middle.

The circles are arranged following the sketch with the Blueberry Bushel one is popped up.  The sentiment from The Right Words is embossed in black on a strip of Pool Party and is popped on dimensionals.

Since this was to be for a 19 year old boy I kept the embellishments to a minimum and just added a black Adhesive-Backed Sparkle Gem.
