Florals in Yellow - Stampin' Up! Textured Florals

There's nothing like some bright cheerful flowers for a summer time card!  I designed this card to show off the Textured Floral stamp set as well as give my stampers a chance to use the Stampin' Up! Masking Paper which I hadn't used in a class before.  I was inspired by the recently closed challenge at The Color Hues to make a card with yellow and green.  I managed to get 3 yellow inks and 2 green inks on this one card!

This is a super simple design in which everyone's card is going to look a bit different depending on stamp placement.  We stamped on a piece of Basic White that measures 4" x 5.25" and used a 1.5" wide piece of masking paper on the diagonal to create the open band in the middle.

Once your masking paper is on just stamp your flower images with the edge of the image on the masking paper and the rest on the cardstock.  I started with the largest stamp and used Daffodil Delight ink and the center is Old Olive ink.  Then fill in the rest of the space with various flowers and leaves, stamping off some of the ink to get a lighter version of the image as well as overlapping the images for a natural cluster look.  Carefully peel off the masking paper and you have a nice space to add your sentiment.

Stamp a few more of the smaller flowers in Crushed Curry and Old Olive and cut them out along with an Old Olive leaf shape and layer them to the side of the the sentiment popping the flowers on dimensionals. Now attach the whole panel to a Basic White thick card base and you're finished!

All of the supplies used to make this card can be purchased in my ONLINE STORE.

Bird's Eye Birthday - Stampin' Up! Bird's Eye View

The Bird's Eye View stamp set is one of cutest new stamps sets in the 2023-202 Stampin' Up! annual catalog.  I've seen a ton of great cards with this set and they are all so different.  I think the birds really lend themselves to fun color combinations.

Since my stampers were asking for some more masculine cards I designed this one for our last class.

Isn't he cute??  I started this design off with a Crumb Cake base, then stamped a piece of Mossy Meadow with the leaf stamp in Mossy Meadow ink.

The branch is stamped in Pecan Pie and the leaves again in Mossy Meadow on a piece of Very Vanilla.  The bird is stamped in Pecan Pie and the glasses in Blueberry Bushel.  It's then cut out with a Countryside Corners dies and then colored in with Blends markers (colors listed below).

Once everything is colored in the panel is popped on dimensionals and a linen thread bow is added on the side.  The Happy Birthday from Go To Greetings is stamped in the corner in Pecan Pie.  After I took this picture I then felt it needed a little something else so the final design actually has a few Tinsel Gems in Blueberry Bushel added around the sentiment.

All the products used on this card can be purchased in my ONLINE STORE.

Birthday Balloons - Stampin' Up! Beautiful Balloons

My local stampers requested some more class projects for guys so I designed this birthday card with a great color combo for guys with a little bit of gold thrown in for good measure.  We had fun making this on at my last class.

We've used Coastal Cabana, Azure Afternoon, Starry Sky and Lemon Lime Twist for this one.  And the Beautiful Balloons set is a great set to use for color combos with a lot of choices...I don't think you can have too many balloons right?

For this one we started with a Coastal Cabana base, then stamp the Azure Afternoon panel with the confetti stamp in the same color of ink then cut out the large balloon using the Beautiful Balloons dies (you can do the opposite too, either way you get the same result!).  The opening of the balloon is covered from the back with a piece of Gold Celebrations Specialty paper which is a gold printed acetate and comes with 3 different patterns in 12x12 size.  If you flip it over the pattern shows as silver.  The balloon string is then stamped in Starry Sky.  A 1/4" strip of More Dazzle specialty paper is glued to the edge for some celebration pop! The whole panel is adhered with dimensionals.

The smaller balloons and the tassel are stamped and die cut.  They are added to the side of the large balloon and the small one is popped on dimensionals. The tag is die cut and then stamped with the birthday greeting and some Azure Afternoon sheer ribbon is tied through the hole.  It's adhered with a few more dimensionals.  Gold sequins finish up the embellishments.

I made a few extras of this design for my card stash because I loved it so much.  You can't have too many guy cards in reserve!

Masculine Leaves - Stampin' Up! Layering Leaves

I've fallen off track with trying to post a masculine card each Tuesday and calling it Testosterone Tuesday but it's not too late for today.  Hopefully these colors or layout will inspire you when you need to make a guy card and just don't know where to start!

I used the new Layering Leaves stamp set which is a great mix of sentiment stamps and some leaf/branch images that coordinate with the Bough punch.  I loved the font on the sentiments and you can't go wrong with some elegant and classic leaves.

I decided to put some of the new/returning colors together for a nice masculine look.  The card base is Early Espresso.  The next layer is a piece of Very Vanilla cut with the Countryside Corners dies and then embossed with the Twisted Rope embossing folder.

I then used a piece of Very Vanilla to create a base for my the color blocks.  I stamped each one with the same color ink and then adhered the strip to the base and then die cut the panel with the next smallest Countryside corner die.

Each color was then used with the open leaf branch stamp and stamped in Versamark then embossed in gold.  I punched them out with the Bough punch then tucked them behind the sentiment circle.  Swap out the sentiment for birthday or thank you or whatever you might need. The circle is popped on dimensionals as is the the whole shaped panel. The Father's Day sentiment is in the Gone Fishing stamp set.

For embellishments I used some linen thread tied with a bit of retired Misty Moonlight twill ribbon and added it with a glue dot.  A few gold sequins tie in with the gold embossing.

My father in law is a nature lover so I hope he liked this card!

Masculine Celebration - Stampin' Up! Layering Leaves

I was making my way through creating the Father's Day cards I needed and the layout at Hand Stamped Sentiments was a great one to show off some texture and DSP!

I knew that I wasn't going to do too much stamping but wanted to highlight some of the Let's Go Fishing DSP.  The card base is Boho Blue, then a layer of Pecan Pie.  Next is a piece of Very Vanilla cut with the Deckled Rectangle dies and then embossed with the Twisted Rope embossing folder.

I cut two lengths of card stock (Boho Blue and Misty Moonlight) with the long narrow waters edge die from Gone Fishing dies and layered them across the Very Vanilla panel.

A bit of Night of Navy baker's twine is tied around this layer before adding the sentiment circles.  The larger circle is piece of Let's Go Fishing DSP cut with the Stylish Shapes dies and topped with the sentiment from Layering Leaves stamped in Misty Moonlight.

I fussy cut a few of the fish from another piece of the Let's Go Fishing DSP and popped them up on dimensionals next to the sentiment.

In Color Dots in Boho Blue accent the sentiment.

Paper Inspiration - Stampin' Up! Crafting With You

I made about 20 customer thank you cards last week for orders placed in May and used the Crafting With You bundle as I know that all of my customers would appreciate a paper craft themed thank you card!  I always leave the inside blank and write my note on a loose sheet of paper so my customers can re-use the card if they'd like.  If you'd like to get a hand stamped card from me just place your order through my online store!

I hadn't used the little paper trimmer die yet so I wanted to use it for the focal point of the card.  How cute is it??

I started with a Moody Mauve base then cut a piece of 4" x 5.25" Basic White panel in half along the diagonal and then embossed it with the Twisted Rope embossing folder.  I adhered a length of Textured Ribbon in Boho Blue along the edge before adhering the panel to the card front.

I die cut the trimmer in Pebbled Path and the cutting blade in Gray Granite.  I used a small piece of  2023-2025 In Color DSP to tuck through the trimmer which is popped on dimensionals.

The sentiment circle is made with a punched circle in Pebbled Path topped by a Basic White circle cut with the embroidery hoop die in the Crafting With You die set.  I stamped off the flower stamp in Boho Blue and then stamped the sentiment over the top with Moody Mauve ink.

A few white adhesive sequins balance the open space around the sentiment.

Bird's Eye Celebration - Stampin' Up! Birds's Eye View

I'm trying my hand at a set of masculine colors for the Global Design Project sketch challenge this week.  That wide open panel has a lot of possibilities.  I thought another sweet little bird from the Bird's Eye View would look cute.

I'm trying to give Wild Wheat a chance and have used it a little bit on this card but it's still giving me Delightful Dijon flashbacks!  I might be traumatized!  I'm just going to focus more on the Boho Blue and Pebbled Path that are also both new In Colors.  I like them a lot!

This card starts with a Very Vanilla thick base then a layer of Let's Go Fishing DSP tilted on an angle like the sketch.

Then I cut a piece of Very Vanilla with the Deckled Rectangle dies.  I blended a very light amount of Pebbled Path ink onto one corner and placed my stamped, colored and fussy cut images over it.  I think the bird came out cute but I think the books would look better if I had left some parts uncolored.

To continue to follow the sketch I stamped an old sentiment on a narrow piece of Boho Blue in Misty Moonlight ink and adhered it to strip of Wild Wheat Textured ribbon and then popped it on dimensionals.

Typewriter Hi - Stampin' Up! Just My Type

I'm playing along with my friends over at the Paper Players challenge today.  They are having us use Lost Lagoon and Lemon Lolly and a neutral.  I have to admit this one stumped me for a bit and even after I completed the card I'm not totally sold on it even though I do like these colors!

I think every time Stampin' Up! comes out with a set with a typewriter stamp I have to buy it.  This is one is particularly cute isn't it?  I stamped it  and the sheet of paper in black Memento and added the flower in Lemon Lolly and colored the petals a bit with the light Lemon Lolly Blends marker.  I added a Lost Lagoon tinsel gem in the center then fussy cut it.

The background is a piece of Lost Lagoon with the flower stamp stamped across the top and bottom in the same color ink.  I added a narrow strip of Bright & Beautiful DSP through the middle and then popped the typewriter up with dimensionals.

A bit of Lemon Lolly sheer ribbon from the Sheer Ribbon combo pack is knotted and added to the side of the typewriter with a glue dot.

Bird Thank You - Stampin' Up! Bird's Eye View

I finally got some ink on one of my favorite "at first glance" stamp sets from the 2023-2024 Annual catalog; Bird's Eye View.  I was immediately drawn to the sweet little birds and the glasses as accessories.  I'm one of those backyard birder people and enjoy watching all the activity at my nest boxes, bird baths and feeders so this set was a must have for me.

I used the TGIF Challenge layout this time as I thought the skinny strip would be a perfect tree limb upon which to perch a bird!

Look at that little darling!  I started this one with an Orchid Oasis card base, then a layer pf Pool Party topped with Basic White embossed with the Twisted Rope embossing folder.

The tree branch is stamped in Pecan Pie ink and then colored in with the same color Blends marker.  The leaves were stamped 3 times in Granny Apple Green and colored in with the same Blends.  Then I fussy cut them all and added them to the card front.

The bird is stamped in Memento Black and the glasses in Starry Sky.  The bird is colored with Calypso Coral and Petal Pink Blends and then fussy cut and popped on dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the Timeless Arrangements stamp set and is stamped in Starry Sky and then cut apart to fit the corner space better.  And a few retired In Color candy dots accessorize around the sentiment.

I know I'll be reaching for this set a lot in the coming months because I can't resist an adorable bird.  Just think of all the color combo possibilities!

Congrats Class of 2023 - Stampin' Up! Beautiful Balloons

It was the last day of school for my kids today!  It seems like it all went quickly looking back on the year but it seemed to go so slow while were were in the middle of it!  How does that work right???  While we don't have a graduate ourselves this year we have celebrated with other families on their child's achievement.  I made this card in the school colors for a recent Class of 2023 grad.

You can't go wrong with the school colors and some sparkle!

Looking at this card now I think I need to dig through my bin of retired supplies and pull out my Bermuda Bay ink pad because I'm going to need this color for more graduation cards in the coming years!

I started with a black card base, then a layer of Basic White.  I used the Patchwork Pieces die to cut 2 sets of panels to mix and match the background.  I used some retired Black Shimmer paper and some retired Bubbles & Fizz DSP in a fun star pattern.  Fun fact: the Bubbles & Fizz DSP was a Sale-a-Bration reward in 2018!  Who else has some of this paper stashed away??  The stars seemed like a perfect theme to use on a card like this.

Once I had my panels lined up and adhered I stamped a large balloon from the Beautiful Balloons stamp set and die cut it.  It's popped on dimensionals with a baker's twine bow.  See the little stars on the balloon that tie in with the stars on the DSP??  It was meant to be!

Using some scraps of the glimmer paper, the Alphabet a la Mode dies and foam adhesive sheets I cut a '23' to pop up on the balloon.  A banner with the sentiment is added to the bottom of the twine.  Some adhesive gems are used to bling out the tag as well as the apostrophe on the class year.

You can purchase current merchandise used to make this card to in my ONLINE STORE.

Happy Mail - Stampin' Up! Stamped With Love

It always seems that as soon as I get a new batch of Stampin' Up! products I'm dying to try all of my free time disappears!  I've barely stamped at all the past week and a half and I think I'm going into withdrawal!  I saw the current Global Design Project challenge to use Blueberry Bushel, Berry Burst and Azure Afternoon and I squeezed in a quick card (and it looks like a quick card...might have to go back and re-do when I have more time!) because I needed a hot minute to myself!

The new Stamped With Love set is so cute with the mail related images and the © Stampin' Up! stamp to comply with the company Angel Policy is always a great stamp to have on hand if you're selling your creations.  To read the Angel Policy and make sure you are complying check it out HERE.

Anyway back to the card!  I thought that Stamped With Love would be a good set to use for these colors because Blueberry Bushel would make for a great mailbox color!  I stamped the image in Versamark and then heat embossed with white embossing powder.  A quick second with my paper snips and I had the mailbox cut out.  I then stamped the envelope portion of the image on a small piece with Basic White scrap in Azure Afternoon ink and also cut it out.  I added a teeny tiny heart in Berry Burst then popped it up with dimensionals onto the mailbox.

The mailbox is popped up on a Deckled Rectangle where I stamped the "you get a card" in Azure Afternoon.  That stamp totally makes me think of Oprah when she did her big giveaway show... "and you get a card, and you get a card and you get a card..." I'm not alone in thinking this right??

I added some sheer ribbon in Azure Afternoon and some adhesive backed sequins in Berry Burst then popped the whole panel on dimensionals over a piece of Bright & Beautiful DSP.

I'm definitely looking forward to creating with this set when I'm less pressed for time!

To purchase any of the supplies used on this card you can order through my ONLINE STORE.

Quick Thank You - Stampin' Up! Petal Park

A few weeks back I needed to make about 30 thank you cards to give to some volunteers at church.  I definitely didn't have time to do a super complicated or time consuming design but of course it still had to be cute!  I figured the best thing to do was to let some DSP do the heavy lifting!  I ended up using the retired Design a Daydream DSP that was a host reward back the last annual catalog.

I cut the long DSP strips to 5.25" x 1.25" in a lot of different patterns and then mixed and matched them on the Basic White thick card bases.

Then I cut out the label shape with the Sentimental Park dies and stamped the thank you from Good Feelings in Blackberry Bliss.  I popped the label on dimensionals on the card front.

Next I stamped the flower outline from Petal Park 30 times in Blackberry Bliss then filled in 10 with each of my main colors; Petal Pink, Daffodil Delight and Pool Party.  The Petal Park Builder punch made quick work out of the punching.  Then I got to work mixing and matching the flowers and adhering them around the sentiment label.

All current products used to make this card can be purchased in my ONLINE STORE.  For the DSP just swap in whatever current pack is your favorite!

Father's Day Fisherman - Stampin' Up! Gone Fishing

How fun is this new bundle??  The Gone Fishing bundle is so perfect for making those outdoors-y guy cards.  I have fishermen in the family so this will be a fun set to create with.  I designed this card to show it off to my local stampers at my last class.  All the lures and accessories are fun to mix and match inside the tackle box die!

This is also a great color combination for guy cards.  I used Misty Moonlight, Gray Granite, Poppy Parade, Mossy Meadow and Crushed Curry.  It reminds me of those vintage wool camp blankets with the stripes!

This one is a Misty Moonlight base, then the tackle box is die cut from Gray Granite.  We used one of the compartment off cuts to stamp the sentiment onto and then just adhered it back in place.  And a sentiment switch gets you a birthday card, retirement card or thank you card for that special fisherman!

The lure and bobber outlines are stamped in Gray Granite and then filled in with the 2 step stamp in the colors.  The fun shiny lure is cut out of the new (returning) More Dazzle Specialty paper.  You might recognize this paper from 2022 Sale-a-Bration when it was called Be Dazzling.  If you loved it then and and want more or maybe missed out on it because it sold out super fast now is your second chance!

Using another one of the tackle box of cuts we added some adhesive sheets to the back and then die cut the hooks.  It's so much easier doing it this way instead of having to adhere with glue; far less messy and frustrating.  The hooks are pretty thin and delicate so you want to be gentle getting them out of the die.

The tackle bits are popped on dimensionals and then a few Tinsel Gems Three-pack at added to highlight the sentiment.

All of the items used to make this card can be purchased in my ONLINE STORE.

Patchwork Rainbow - Stampin' Up! Just My Type

I know I can't be the only one to page through the Stampin' Up! catalog and find something new that I hadn't noticed in the 25 times before.  I usually go through the catalog as soon as demonstrators get the PDF and make my list of everything that I would love to have if money were no object.  Then I narrow it down for the actual first one or 2 orders.  But I ALWAYS end up adding to my list a few things that I just didn't notice initially.  The Patchwork Pieces dies are one of those products.  I think I might have missed it because it's not coordinated with a stamp set so it's just kind of on its own back in the die section.  But boy oh boy I think this is a going to be a hit with stampers all over!

I designed this card for my stampers to make at my last class to show off a few new colors, the Patchwork Pieces dies and the new stamp set Just My Type.  It did not disappoint!

We've got the fab Lemon Lolly base to build the rest of the card upon.  To make the rainbow panels all you need to do is use blending brushes and add the colors in a diagonal across a panel of Basic White.  I used Flirty Flamingo, Lemon Lolly, Lemon Lime Twist, Azure Afternoon and Fresh Freesia for my colors.  Then cut the panel out with the Patchwork Pieces die.

The trick that I found to adhering the piece back together and having nice even spacing is to adhere the 4 corner pieces back first making sure they are even with the backing.  On my card I just used a piece of Basic White for the backing.  Once you've got your 4 corners on you can add in the the other pieces keeping the spacing consistent.  And that's all there is to it!

The rest of the card comes together easily with the sentiment from Just My Type stamped in Memento Black and the little rainbow inked up with the same color as before but using markers.  The sentiment is backed with a piece of the new White Center 12x12 paper with the edges torn off to reveal the white detail.

A little adhesive rhinestone decorates the side of the rainbow for the final detail on this bright, cheerful card.

Definitely don't sleep on the Patchwork Pieces dies I think there are so many possibilities with them and I can't wait to try them all out!

All of the items used on this card can be purchased in my ONLINE STORE.

Berry Floral Birthday - Stampin' Up Textured Floral

When the last annual catalog retired I ended up having not a single current flower stamp set left so I had to do a little shopping and remedy that!  The Textured Floral bundle caught my eye because it has the great DisINKtive style that I love.  I liked the less structured feel to the flowers and leaves and thought they would look fabulous in a lot of different color combinations.

I only received the Textured Floral bundle a few days before my next class but I was bound and determined to use for one of the class projects.  I designed a great card using some returning colors and a brand new color and it also shows off the new Soft Shimmer paper.  This paper is so gorgeous the photo on page 127 of the catalog just doesn't do it justice!  If you're glitter-adverse this is the sparkly paper for you; there's no mess or stray glitter when you cut into it and it's lighter weight than the traditional glimmer papers so it doesn't add bulk to your project.  And you get 5 colors in the 12x12 pack!

I started with a Lost Lagoon card base and then stamped all of my flowers on a panel of Basic White.  I used Bubble Bath ink for the smaller flowers, and stamped off Berry Burst ink on the larger flower.  The leaves are stamped off Lost Lagoon.  Isn't this a pretty color combo?  The sentiment is stamped in the corner in Smoky Slate.

For the large focal blossom it is stamped in full strength Berry Burst ink with a Smoky Slate stamen/pistils and is then die cut.  I backed the stamped flower with a die cut in the same shape in the Soft Shimmer paper in Berry Burst as well as a leaf stem in Lost Lagoon Soft Shimmer.  The layered flower is popped on dimensionals over the leaf.

A strip of the new Bubble Bath Sheer Ribbon is added to the edge of the Basic White panel and a few adhesive-backed sequins trio are added next to the sentiment.

I really think this flower style will lend itself well to cards for all seasons and I know I will be using it a lot.

All of the products used to make this card can be purchased on my Stampin' Up! ONLINE STORE.
