Goofy Giraffe Birthday - Stampin' Up! Animal Outing

I thought I'd have my act together this week to get some projects shared but it seems that since I didn't have much time or energy to stamp last week that means I don't have any projects to share this week!  And next week is stamp club so I'm busy designing and making a mess in the stamp room to get ready for that.  A vicious cycle I tell ya!

I do have a card that I whipped up for my now 10 (!!!) year olds birthday a few weeks back.  The Animal Outing stamp set hadn't seen any ink since I ordered it in June so I thought it was high time to play.

This was a sketch challege some weeks back but I can't remember now and besides it's long closed.  I liked the 3 panels for the giraffe stamped in different angles.  He kind of ended up looking like he was spinning around in a carnival ride, or maybe the dryer but whatever...

I colored him in with watercolor pencils and a blender pen and cut him out with the Stitched Shapes square framelits.

The sentiment is from the Tabs for Everything set (I love the small mix and match words) and then punched and layered.  I added a few sprigs of Call Me Clover die cut leaves to keep the card from being too blah with the parched plains tan-ish color palette.

The Animal Expedition paper was a fun addition to the background for a bit of animal print goodness.

Thanks for looking!  Did you stamp today?

Can't Get Enough Tropical - Stampin' Up! Tropical Chic - Fab Friday 142

Vacation Bible School has been kicking my butt this week.  We have 145 kids this year so for us volunteers in the Crafts room we are running and running and running each morning.  Today is the last day and hopefully the final project will go smoothly.  Next week I'll be getting back to a regular schedule that includes time to blog each morning.  In the meantime you'll have to make due with the latest Fab Friday challenge as my only post this week.

It's a pretty color combo this time.  Though I will admit to being stumped what to do with all.that.green.  Seriously 3 shades right?  I was having trouble with that Mossy Meadow playing nicely with the others.  I know Stampin' Up! is calling it a neutral but I guess I'm old school and still consider green a color-color.  I tried a few different things and nothing seemed quite right.  Maybe it's my VBS fried mind but it was a struggle.

This is what I finally came up with that, while not my favorite I'm not completely hating on it.

I can't seem to get enough of the Tropical Chic set as I've used it so much lately.  Those leaves are just call to me and since we have all.that.green. in this challenge I couldn't look away!

I pulled in the Mossy Meadow finally by using an aquapainter and the MM ink to color the embossed leaves on the piece of Mint Macaron as well as a thin strip of the MM cardstock along the edge.

The rest is straightforward with the leaves inked in Mint Macaron with just a hint of the Tranquil Tide sponged on the edges.  Powder Pink flower check, Tranquil Tide frond check.  Sentiment flag check.

Head over to the Fab Friday Challenge to see the rest of the fantastic Design Team in action with these colors and then add your creation to the gallery!

You Are Wonderful - Stampin' Up! Rooted in Nature

I'm still having fun with the Rooted in Nature set!  For today's card I decided to pair it up with one of my most favorite background stamps, Tree Rings.  I love that the Rooted in Nature set coordinates so well with other stamps.

I started with a Tranquil Tide card base.  The next layer is Soft Suede with the lower half stamped with the Tree Rings background.  Then I left a bit of space and stamped the small leaf stamp from Rooted in Nature.

The sentiment is stamped in Tranquil Tide on a piece of Very Vanilla.  I tore the edges and then sponged some Soft Suede ink.  I had a really narrow strip of Blackberry Bliss that I adhered along the sides of the sentiment.

Next up is the little cluster of leaves.  I stamped off once and after it was die cut I sponged some Soft Suede ink on the leaves as well.  It's popped up on dimensionals and a little bit of linen thread tied in a bow.

P.S. I Love You - Stampin' Up! P.S. You're the Best - Fab Friday 141

Aaaannnnddddd we're back for another great Fab Friday Challenge!  Hopefully you've all recovered from any 4th of July festivities you participated in.  Having the celebrations on a Wednesday kind of makes for a weird week doesn't it?  It's like having 2 Mondays in a week without a proper weekend to recover in between!  But stamping makes everything better!

  Check out this sketch!

Besides the fancy label shape I stuck to the sketch exactly and used the new P.S. You're the Best stamp set for the first time.  Yesterday my husband and I celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary so I thought this stamp set was pretty spot on for an anniversary card.  What do you think?

The card base is Pool Party then I busted out my brand new pack of Animal Expedition DSP for the gray patterned panel.

The Whisper White strip is embossed with the new Tufted embossing folder and because I had to take the photo in the middle of the day the pattern is all washed out.  But it's there and it's a really cool look.

I stamped the typewriter in Momento ink and then colored it in with Stampin' Blends; Pool Party and Smoky Slate.  The hearts are stamped off once in Pool Party and Daffodil Delight.  I fussy cut it all out...took just a minute. Then popped it up with dimensionals over a scrap of retired Daffodil Delight ribbon.  I guess I better put some current Daffodil Delight ribbon on my next order!

Head over to Fab Friday to see the rest of the design team and their creative genius on display and then play along with us!

So Much Tropical - Stampin' Up! Tropical Chic

I'm getting down to my last few cards to share so it's a good thing that World Cup is on not on for a few days and I can get some more projects made!  Luckily I have this one that I designed for my new catalog party earlier in the month.  My stampers went a bit crazy for this suite and I think I sold 6 or 7 of them!

But you can totally see why right?  This suite is a great mix of nice images, sentiments and fun dies. Not to mention the great coordinating DSP!

I wanted to show off all this great new product along with 2 new colors.  The card base is Shaded Spruce then we used the large square die to cut out the leaf outlines in a panel of Granny Apple Green then backed it with a piece of Whisper White.

A narrow strip of Tropical Escape DSP goes across the bottom of the Granny Apple Green panel.  The hibiscus flower is stamped in Blushing Bride and then punched out and backed with a Shaded Spruce punched circle.

The flower is popped on dimensionals over a flag of Granny Apple Green Textured Weaved ribbon.

We left off a sentiment on the outside so that it could be a blank notecard or a sentiment could be added when needed.

Tailored Tag Background - Stampin' Up! Tailored Tag Punch

Happy 4th of July stamping friends!  I hope you have a great day planned celebrating with family and friends!

My card today is appropriately a birthday card!  I've used the retired Picture Perfect DSP from the last Occasions catalog.  Making this background with the Tailored Tag punch is a great way to use up some smaller scraps of paper and squeeze (get it? punch? squeeze? no?) every last card you can out of a pack of paper.

I added a bit of sparkle by using some glimmer paper and some clear enamel dots.

The sentiment and gift bow are in the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set that carried over from the Occasions catalog.

Soft Sympathy - Stampin' Up! Rooted in Nature

Our summer days are admittedly pretty lazy but since the World Cup has been on we've been especially unproductive.  I get geared up to get some stuff done before the first game in the morning but for some reason I never make it very far on my to do list!  And that includes getting some of my stamping "work" done as well.  I can't decide if having a tv in my stamp room would improve productivity or not??  Good thing I have a little stockpile of card to share with you!

I really don't think you can make a bad card with the new Rooted in Nature set.  The images are so beautiful that it doesn't take much to put together a card for just about any occasion.

It's nice to have a few sympathy cards on hand just in case so I pulled out Rooted in Nature and used just 2 stamps for this card.

And I don't know what happened with the sentiment but I stamped it a bit wonky but the card was already put together so I just left it.
